My name is Na'Sean Lacey, and I love watching films and series on different streaming services, especially Netflix. My absolute favorite Netflix series that I can't stop talking about is "The Umbrella Academy," an adaptation of the comics by Gerard Way. "The Umbrella Academy" is currently in its fourth and final season, and it has been a thrilling ride from the very beginning. When I first saw the trailer for "The Umbrella Academy," I was intrigued, but it was once I started watching it that I instantly fell in love with the show. The series is binge-worthy for several reasons, from its intense and captivating plot to its diverse and lovable characters. Here’s why you should clear your weekend to dive into this extraordinary show. "The Umbrella Academy" starts with a fascinating premise: on the same day in 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth simultaneously despite not showing any signs of pregnancy before. Seven of these children are adopted by an eccentric billionaire, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who trains them to save the world. Each child has a unique power, and they become the dysfunctional superhero team known as The Umbrella Academy. The plot is an intricate blend of family drama, time travel, and superhero action. It’s not just about saving the world; it’s about these seven siblings navigating their complex relationships with each other and their estranged father. Each season builds on the previous one, with well-crafted story arcs that keep you on the edge of your seat. The series explores themes of trauma, identity, and redemption, making it much more than a typical superhero show. The characters are the heart and soul of "The Umbrella Academy." Each member of the family is distinct and richly developed. There’s Luther, the super-strong leader with a vulnerable side; Diego, the knife-wielding vigilante with a troubled past; Allison, who can manipulate reality with her words; Klaus, the lovable and unpredictable medium who can communicate with the dead; Five, the time-traveling genius trapped in a child’s body; Ben, the ghost of their deceased brother with monstrous abilities; and Vanya, whose hidden powers are both awe-inspiring and terrifying. One of the most compelling aspects of the show is the character development. You see each character evolve, confront their demons, and strive to become better versions of themselves. Their interactions are genuine and often emotionally charged, making you care deeply about their journeys. "The Umbrella Academy" also excels in its ability to balance humor and drama. The show is filled with witty dialogue and hilarious situations that provide a perfect counterbalance to its darker, more serious themes. This balance ensures that the series remains entertaining and never feels too heavy. In conclusion, "The Umbrella Academy" is a must-watch for anyone who loves a good story and complex characters. It’s a show that hooks you from the first episode and keeps you invested until the very end.
      Minecraft Forever Fan Scholarship
Hello, my name is Na'Sean Lacey. I'm 18 years old, and I've been playing Minecraft since I received my first game system, a PS3, on Christmas in the 3rd grade of 2013. Minecraft has been a significant part of my childhood and holds a special place in my heart. From the moment I started playing, I was captivated by the endless possibilities the game offered. I loved building structures, from simple houses to grand mansions, and the joy of creating something from nothing was incredibly fulfilling. However, one particular activity in Minecraft stands out as my favorite is playing hide and seek, especially on the Hive Server with my high school friends. The transition of watching YouTubers play hide and seek on mine craft to actually being able to do it myself with my friends. Playing hide and seek in Minecraft resonates with me so deeply because the thrill of finding the perfect hiding spot, the anticipation of being discovered, and the excitement of searching for others create an exhilarating experience that never gets old. Each game is a new adventure, filled with laughter, strategy, and teamwork. The Hive Server's hide and seek mode adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the game. The custom maps and creative hiding spots make each round unique and challenging. Whether it's disguising myself as a block and blending into the environment or strategizing with friends to outwit the seekers, every game is a test of creativity and quick thinking. This mode encourages players to think outside the box and use their surroundings to their advantage, making it an engaging and intellectually stimulating activity. We would spend hours exploring the different maps, devising strategies, and laughing at each other's antics. The shared experience of playing together strengthened our friendships and created memories that I will cherish forever. It was more than just a game; it was a way for us to connect, have fun, and support each other. Minecraft's hide and seek mode also taught me valuable life skills. The need for quick decision-making, adaptability, and teamwork are essential in the game and in real life. Finding the perfect hiding spot requires creativity and spatial awareness, while seeking out hidden players demands perseverance and attention to detail. These skills have translated into other areas of my life, helping me become more resourceful and resilient. In conclusion, The memories and bonds formed during these games are invaluable, and the skills learned have positively impacted my life. Minecraft is more than just a game to me; it is a cherished part of my childhood and a testament to the power of play and friendship.
      Anime Enthusiast Scholarship
Hello, my name is Na'Sean Lacey. I have been watching anime since middle school, and the first anime I watched, other than Pokémon and Beyblade, was Tokyo Ghoul. I was recommended the show by some people I met while playing an online game. Two other anime I enjoyed in middle school were "When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace" or "InoBato", "Is This a Zombie? Of the Dead," and "Fairy Tail." When I got to high school, my anime tastes became more diverse. I started exploring more Isekai and Seinen anime while still enjoying Shonen. I also developed an appreciation for Shojo and Josei anime. One anime that intrigued and captivated me was "Reborn!" also known as "Katekyō Hitman Reborn!" and "Hitman Reborn!" Reborn! is one of the only two anime I watched in sub instead of dub; the other was "Eyeshield 21," which also piqued my interest. This anime holds a special place in my heart, and I can watch it over and over again without losing interest. What makes "Reborn!" so captivating for me is its unique blend of genres, character development, and compelling storyline. I love anime that involves groups or teams like the Mafia because it brings such unique and lovable characters to the table. "Reborn!" initially presents itself as a typical slice-of-life comedy but quickly transforms into an action-packed Shonen with supernatural elements it was always supposed to be. One of the aspects that make "Reborn!" endlessly captivating is the character development. Tsuna starts as a reluctant and weak protagonist but gradually evolves into a strong and confident leader. The anime does an excellent job of showcasing his growth, making the audience root for him and become emotionally invested in his journey. The supporting characters are equally well-developed, each with their unique abilities, personalities, and backstories. Characters like Gokudera, Yamamoto, and Hibari bring depth and diversity to the series, creating a rich tapestry of relationships and dynamics. Another element that keeps me coming back to "Reborn!" is its intricate and well-paced storyline. The series seamlessly blends comedy, drama, and action, ensuring that there is never a dull moment. The plot is filled with unexpected twists and turns, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. The various story arcs, such as the Varia Arc, the Future Arc, and the Shimon Arc, are all meticulously crafted, providing a perfect balance of suspense, excitement, and emotional resonance. Additionally, "Reborn!" excels in its world-building and supernatural elements. The concept of the Vongola Rings, the different Mafia families, and the unique abilities of each character add layers of intrigue and excitement to the series. The battles are not just physical confrontations but also tests of strategy, wit, and teamwork. The animation and art style further enhance the experience, bringing the vibrant and dynamic world of "Reborn!" to life. Lastly, the themes explored in "Reborn!" resonate deeply with me. The series emphasizes the importance of friendship, loyalty, and perseverance. Tsuna's journey teaches valuable lessons about overcoming self-doubt, embracing one's true potential, and the strength that comes from believing in oneself and others. These themes are universal and timeless, making "Reborn!" not just an entertaining series but also an inspiring and uplifting one. In conclusion, Reborn!" is the anime that I can watch repeatedly without ever getting tired of it. As an anime enthusiast, "Reborn!" holds a special place in my heart, and it continues to inspire and entertain me with each rewatch.

My name is Na'Sean Lacey and I'm attending school to become a teacher. I chose this career path because I have identified my gift for helping people, especially children in a range of things like understanding problems or leading them on the right path for the future. I was born and grew up in Rochester, New York, I moved from time to time and went to different schools but I grew up in a loving and protective family that wanted to see me do big things in the future. I lived at my grandparents’ house and with them for most of my life, the neighborhood they lived in wasn’t bad, it had its pros and cons but people there treated each other somewhat like family. My mom mainly raised me and my older sister, my dad was there sometimes and he was supportive and helpful in my life even when my mom and dad weren’t together. She was a role model for me and my sister, an independent black woman doing her best to raise two children and raise them to do great things in their lives. My melanin is more than just a sign of where I come from and my culture but my excellence and overcoming adversity. Being black means to me that I come from a long line of trailblazers and freedom fighters who fought and set the stage for the next generation like me. Black boys where I used to live either ended up doing that and ended up in prison, jail, or even dead like joining gangs, selling drugs, drive-bys, and shootings. My family protected me from that even when it was right outside and I found myself thankful for my family because that’s how the majority of the world sees me and my black brothers and sisters or how they want to see and want us to end up like. I want to overcome the black stereotype people put on us based on what they see and how they see us. My blackness is more than just a pigment but a gift and beauty that needs to be expressed and shown to the world that I can do great things no matter my skin color but how big my mind and heart are. I will use my education to give back to my community in the future by building up the next generation and leading them into a brighter future. I want to make an impact on these children, empowering them to overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams. In the future, I envision myself playing a significant role as a teacher, I will be in a unique position to inspire and motivate students, helping them realize their full potential. I see future doctors, lawyers, professional athletes, and even more teachers in children. Everyone has the power to help change and shape the world, especially kids, I see greatness and opportunity in children who pursue their dreams and talents no matter the obstacles.
