WinnerBio
I am an immigrant from South Korea who has also lived in America for most of my life (16 years). This unique background makes me passionate about public service, law, and the performing arts. I love playing cello, singing operas and musicals, studying politics, and writing creative nonfiction.
I am a recent graduate at Stanford University. I majored in Political Science and minored in Music and Creative Writing. Studying collective action and how governments can protect or impede on citizens' rights is fascinating to me because of their immense implications.
I am also writing a Stanford honors project using creative nonfiction and poetry, focusing on my identities of being a woman and Asian. I frequently weave in popular music and movies into my essays.
I want to pursue a career in law and online content moderation, while continuing my interests in film studies and the performing arts.
***Fun fact: I have watched 847 movies in 21 different languages!***
My hobbies include watching NBA games, writing movie reviews on Letterboxd, playing cello and singing, writing restaurant reviews, and more.
I love documenting how I try various cultures' cuisines by making videos on my food Instagram account @nommingwithnadia. I eat everything from Indian, Georgian, Greek, Japanese, Spanish, New England, to Korean food!
