      Bold Patience Matters Scholarship
Being patient is important to me because I was a very difficult child. I fought my parents on everything, and through it all, my mom kept her calm. She rarely ever yelled at me. There were times during my teen years where I would purposely push her. I wanted her to give up on me, yet she never did. I am glad that she kept her patience with me because had she not, I probably wouldn't have graduated from high school. I would have ended up as another pregnant teen. So, why is being patient so important? It is important because you never know how your patience can impact the other person. I have a younger sister who is struggling in life and I do my best to try to show her the patience that my mom showed me at her age. I am hoping that by showing patience with her, I will allow her to make her own mistakes to learn from as I did, without being the bossy older sister that I resented at her age.
      Bold Bucket List Scholarship
In my life, I want to be a good mother and wife. I want to get my associate's degree which I am 17 credits away from achieving. I want to get into Vet Tech school successfully complete it. I have started doing the steps to be able to apply. After completing Vet Tech school my dream would be to get a job at All Creatures Animal Hospital. After 5 years of working there, I plan on applying to Washington State University where I hope to complete the prerequisites for veterinary school. I would then apply for Veterinary school. I feel like my life thus far has been a struggle. I have been able to overcome having Reactive Attachment Disorder. I have spent as much time as I could with my grandpa before he passed away. I overcame Covid and have learned to live with being stuck at home. I have been the best auntie I could possibly be to my five nieces and nephews. My biggest accomplishment though by far was graduating high school. My mental health in high school was on the rocks. With the support of my family, I was able to graduate.
      Bold Study Strategies Scholarship
Throughout high school, I struggled with procrastination and motivation. I often would fail to turn in assignments because I forgot about them. Sometimes I just couldn't get motivated and just wouldn't turn them in. When I first applied for college, I was really nervous about being successful. I wanted to set myself up for success so I came up with some things that would help me to be successful. The most helpful strategy was using a planner. I use a planner to help me keep track of all my deadlines. I sometimes even write due dates a day early so that I don't have to worry about missing due dates. I have found that by using a planner I don't need to rely on my brain. I find that my brain will fail me more times than a paper planner will. Another strategy that I find is really helpful is getting print assignments whenever possible. I find that doing my assignments on paper often produces better results. Being on the computer a lot gives me a headache. I will often print out assignments to do during the day and then type them up in the evenings. I also find that getting print textbooks is really helpful. I have taken several courses that only offered online textbooks and found that I had a much harder time concentrating and retaining information. With a print textbook, I am able to concentrate on what I am reading as well as being able to annotate my text. I find that I learn the information so much quicker.
