As an art student, my four years at Montana State University have been a profound journey of emotional exploration. This experience has not only fostered personal growth but also instilled a sense of responsibility toward myself and those around me. I want to further advocate mental health and growing small businesses through illustrations/design and raise awareness of such causes. I have made brand identity designs for my family and friends to help jumpstart their food truck businesses. I vividly recall the countless all-nighters dedicated to perfecting my final projects, meticulously aligning their quality and content with the strict grading criteria. Additionally, I have learned to embrace the aftermath of creative brainstorming and crafting sessions, willingly tidying up the artistic mess left behind. The mental and physical fatigue I endure throughout the creative process is undeniably worthwhile when I realize that I am crafting something I can genuinely be proud of—a creation that becomes a part of who I am. Sharing my art with my loved ones brings me immense joy, and their positive feedback serves as a constant source of motivation, propelling me forward in my artistic endeavors. I am driven by a deep aspiration to continually push myself harder, with the ultimate goal of being my own company with projects that practice transparency, slow production, and ethical sourcing. My family immigrated from the Philippines, all in pursuit of a better life and affordable living. My sole desire is to see them live a life free from financial obligations and blessed with good health. Earning a scholarship will immensely help me financially in pursuing my dreams and career as well as a confidence boost to not give up and strive forward with passion and love.
