Bio

I am interested in becoming software engineer. My ultimate goal is to find a product related to Machine learning that I can launch for the betterment of the world and establish a business. I am passionate about how machines learn to automatically do work and specifically, how the neural networks in machine learning are trained and act just like a human brain.

Al-Haj Abdallah R Abdallah Muslim Scholarship
My major is Computer Science. Since my childhood, I have been playing video games but never knew how they were created. However, in high school, when I started taking courses related to Computer Science at a basic level, I gained interest in this field. In my last year of high school, I even did programming which led me to choose the computer science field. When I came to the University of Kansas in the USA, I got more passionate about learning new things and after getting exposed to the actual software and learning the art of software coding using which I even created small games like a number-guessing game, I understood that this is my path. Seeking higher education is extremely important for me because of many different reasons. One of the biggest reasons is my beliefs. Being a Muslim, I have come to know that we must help others regardless of their faith. This concept is evident in the life of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH and the lives of caliphs like Hazrat Umar. How Umar used to roam around the streets at night to see if anyone needed help is the most ideal case of humanity and I think, my field has a lot to offer to the world. My father is a doctor and he tells me how in Pakistan, many hospitals are trying to get better database management systems. Many don't even have one yet. After my education, I will work in the industry to get more experience and be able to help Pakistan and the world produce better software that can help in the medical field especially and even other fields. I am still in the middle of my college degree. So far, I have noticed that students get degrees to get a job and earn money. This is the path with no purpose for you can buy only so much and even then you won't have the peace you want. I have come to this conclusion after looking at how billionaires are struggling with mental health. One example is Elon Musk needing a psychiatrist to keep up with the world's pressures. A long time ago, I came across Sahil Adeem. He is a psychologist and trains CEOs of various companies. How he changed my mindset is amazing. He inspired me to work harder and not think that only by praying five times a day can I be a better Muslim for this is just one part of our faith. Muslim's duties are to solve global problems. As soon as you become a Muslim, you are obligated to help the entire world and Quran and other important Islamic personalities reflect it. Keeping this concept in mind, I have volunteered at a local masjid to clean the different areas and to serve people or help them during Ramadan. I even went with a team to a local farmer's farm and helped clean his farm, hopefully leaving a good impact on others to inspire them in the community. Through Sahil's sessions, I learned that I can become a great Muslim by researching and inventing something that can assist others. The world will also know the real psychology of Islam which is to ease other people's lives and to have a sense of equal Justice. This encapsulates what being a Muslim means to me. One last thing to add would be that a Muslim must do what is right, knowing that Allah never burdens you more than what you can handle and always finds a way out for you just like he did for Prophet Younas in that whale.

    1. I only know how to do things wrong. Whenever someone see me, their first impression is this: "How can someone be born with so much wrongness in them." For example, I worked in IT department. One time, to help reset somebody’s password,. I took their id, logged in, changed their password, and gave them the new password I just set . My fellow-workers applauded me for my perfect wrong approach. 2. To be unique, you have to do something unique. So, I have decided to be at the top in terms of academics but from the bottom. My academic goals are to surprise those who never believed in me by failing in more classes than they ever expected from me. This way, the whole world will know how much worthy I am of their behavior and treatment with me. 3. We had guests coming to our home and the same day, our front door broke due to wild winds. My parents were worried that guests will be arriving soon, and they cannot repair it at this time. Thanks to my intelligent mind, I broke the whole door, threw it away and left the main entrance empty without any door. It looked like a new style, Home with no door.

One tip that I think goes a long way if you want to make a fortune by investing is that understand how human psychology works. Mostly, some news comes and people start making decisions about what to do with their investments. And that is the right way to manage your portfolio. But the issue with that is it sometimes goes against you because it is usually only the gut feelings the person gets from seeing that news. What I believe in is "Buy the Fear, Sell the Greed." When there is a bad chapter going on in the stock market or crypto market or any other trading avenue, people tend to start selling off their assets because they look around themselves and see others doing the same which creates FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). They are forced into thinking that if they do not sell off their holdings, everyone else will make profits and they will be left out. The same concept goes for the good news. Investors start to buy assets that have already taken off, meaning they have gained a lot of value already. So, seeing those green lines on charts, people start to buy the assets, again being influenced by FOMO. In both situations, the opposite happens. This phrase usually applies to beginners but many times, even experts make such mistakes. Now, considering the above nature of human thinking, I have understood that whenever people are afraid of buying an asset and selling off starts, I must buy that asset since I will be getting it at a low price and whenever more people have started to buy an asset, that is the time to sell it off because there are others as well who have huge amounts stacked and are ready to sell their holdings too.

Seeing the surroundings of my home back in my home country lacking the cleanliness that every human deserved, I knew that I would do something that would help in keeping our society clean. With that motive, I decided to think about how I could turn my passion for coding into a tool to improve the conditions of our environment. I am majoring in Computer Science with a specialization in the Machine Learning field. What I am aiming to achieve is the way to use machines to assist us in mitigating the pollution issue we face today, especially in developing countries such as Pakistan, my home country. I have been learning the C++ language to be able to implement AI applications framework in the future when needed. Furthermore, I am currently doing Neural Network specialization as well which is about how to design neural networks that would be built for a specific purpose. My career goals revolve around these ideas. I am passionate about working in a firm where I will have like-minded individuals who will design learning models to detect the waste in the community so that we can locate the areas with the most waste and move it to the places where it can be recycled or processed for other purposes. My idea is to provide the learning model with variables namely, types of waste materials, pictures of common waste materials, and areas with high traffic etc. so that our model can be trained to process this information and analyze the areas and match them with the correct ratio of the waste present in the area.

Being always interested in science and computer-programming, I would look up such things on YouTube. NASA is the YouTube channel owned by NASA in which they show live footage of earth from space and provide information about space. Looking over their channel regularly, I was delving deeper and deeper into this world of stars and space. One day, it just occurred to my mind that every civilization or generation that has come before us used to always look up to the sky whether they were looking for a god or some hope when their lives meant nothing anymore to them. An example is Sumer civilization that interested me. The Sumerian tablets contained information about space creatures and their drawing as they exist even today hint towards something in the sky. Mostly, they are referring up to the sky as if they had seen something with their own eyes. With that being said, when I look around, I see today's leaders building up their space organizations and trying to find life on other planets. Elon Musk is the greatest example of today's era. The concepts from times of Sumerian civilization until today have remained same as be it Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, or any other religion, they state the presence of god in the sky. If you notice, physics laws hint towards something that fulfills our spiritual needs. Spirituality is the feeling contained inside us when we start to ponder over our soul and its connection to our physical body and to the overall world. While some believe soul is a physical entity trapped in our bodies, others think of it just as a concept derived from religions. My understanding is that spirituality is definitely connected with science and math and as you look at today;s inventions, it becomes more and more clear. Mass-energy law of physics that is E=mc^2, is about mass, a physical body being converted into energy and then travelling even in the space and changing back to physical presence. This concept is very clear to those who have read books about spirits, soul and spirituality that souls have the power to travel freely and float around the world. In the double-slit experiment, It was proved that electrons behave differently when under observation. This forced scientists to believe that electrons could be living things. Since every matter is made up of atomic particles like electrons, it went on to point out that every matter in this world could be a living thing. Now if you go back to spirituality and religions, you see the same concept that there will a day when all the souls will be lifted up and every single thing that existed in this world, whether it be rock or chair, will be brought to life. Hence this makes a fine connection between how sciences are coming close to what the spirituality and religions claim. With mathematics intervention in all this, it becomes more transparent that how this world has the spirituality and the sciences of today's joined together. Mathematics allows you to delve deeper into physics field as we see that many of the laws of the physics have to use heavy math in order to come up with results. With mathematics formulae, law of lever was introduced. Since mathematical world is infinite, we see its connection to almost every other theory and even in our spiritual lives. It shows us the importance of the world by helping us exercise our brain's mental intelligence. In conclusion, for those who think deeply, they can see a clear line joining the fields of spirituality, physics and math.

All it takes to understand the pain and value of other human beings is by having the pain inflicted on yourself. The day I had exceptional headache and fever, thanks to covid-19, and could not move from the bed was the moment I realized how I have been taking my life for granted. There is so much a living being can suffer. If you are being sucked out using suction pump or maybe your limbs are being cut through scissors, you are allowing the unborn to go through one of the extreme forms of torture. When my friend had her abortion, she said she felt as if something was moving inside her right before the abortion process, which led her to depression afterwards. Hearing this from someone really close to me and having that first-hand experience of being with them during the process, had a totally different impact on me. So, it was these little experiences, thoughts and realizations that added up and brought me to the doors of humanity. I have started to care more for the others who are living around me and have a focus on trying to promote the fact that unborn are unborn but alive which means there is a human being living inside a woman's body and with abortion, you are murdering that living being. According to Colleen Malloy, a neonatologist and faculty member at Northwestern University, fetal pain is indeed caused by abortion as suggested by her research that 20 weeks is enough time for the fetus to form up. To support her claim, Louisiana Department of Health, states on their official document on their website that ears, and eyes of a child begin to form by week 4. Therefore, this is enough to grant human rights to unborn, considering they have their own existence in the womb like we have ours out here. Being from Pakistan, I have developed more seriousness in this matter since we have the highest rates of abortion as suggested by Population Council, an international, nonprofit, and non-governmental organization, according to whom Pakistan has 90,000 induced abortions performed annually in Pakistan and estimate an annual abortion rate of 29 per 1,000 women aged 15–49. Reading such statistics has promoted sense of urgency in me to somehow contribute to the cause of pro-life. With this enthusiasm, I had another friend, going for abortion but by explaining her how her child will suffer and by making her meet my previous friend who already had experienced it all, she was convinced to step back and that unborn was spared a life. Whenever I get a chance, I try to convince others to step back from this decision. The biggest role that I believe I play in promoting everyone's dignity and value is through being a member of organization, called technology Movement Pakistan. Though it is a newly formed political party, it's main work is to provide justice to the poor and make sure police is filing cases for even those people who are from the working class because police usually does not take them serious in Pakistan. I, along with the other thousands of members, donate to our party so that seniors can use those funds to help the people deprived of basic human rights. Elon Musk, the ceo of Tesla, has been working on technology like GPT-3, self-driving cars, rockets, and other breakthrough technologies along the same line that have been proved to be useful to human race. Artificial Intelligence is one of his main focus and that is what he has been working on the most and GPT-3 and Tesla cars are the proof of that. Right now, he is also working on how to make the rockets that his company, SpaceX creates, land back on Earth after being launched and so far, his progress in that is good.
