My name is Morganne Poujol, I am a senior at Northgate High School in Georgia. My mom is from Cameroon and my dad is French, I also have a younger brother, who is my best friend. I was born in the United states, but I didn't always live here. I've lived in France as well as South Africa (for the majority of my childhood). I am inspired and passionate about learning and gaining experiences that life throws at me everyday. Living and traveling in different places has caused me to become knowledgable about all the cultures, languages and people of the world. My family speaks french at home, and I have taken advantage of my language to become a french tutor for people at my school and just recently a spanish tutor as well. My mom is a big inspiration in my life and is my biggest role model. I see the hard times and good times that she's went through and still managed to become a strong woman. My life goals are to become a general surgeon and to eventually open up my own practice in different village of South Africa and Cameroon to help families who don't have the resources to get healthcare. I think I would be a good candidate for this scholarship because I feel that I am not afraid to step out of my comfort zone and use my resources, whether that is to help others or for my own advantage.
