Bio

My name is Molly McGill. I am a single mother of 2. I have a beautiful 8 year old daughter, and an amazing almost 5 year old son. They are my reason and my “why” for everything in life. After a lot of debate, and breaking out of my comfort zone, I made the decision to further my education. The goal for me is be able to provide for my children and enjoy life while doing it. I am currently a NYS medical massage therapist. I want a better life for myself and my children. I am currently 31 years old, and still I have not been able to afford a home for my children. While living with family is lovely and helpful, my children deserve the world and a home of their own. Me as a person, I am extremely passionate in all aspects of life. I am opinionated, I am educated, and I am determined. I’ve always had a fire in me to fight for what’s right. I truly believe I can make a difference in the world with my passion, my opinions, my education, and my determination. I am pursuing a dream of mine to become a lawyer. I want to be the voice for those that aren’t loud, those are scared, and for everyone who needs someone in their corner fighting the good fight. Stepping out of my comfort zone is something that is terrifying and difficult for a lot of people, myself included.

My desire to practice law is deeply rooted in personal experiences and a long-standing fascination with the legal system's capacity to effect change. My firsthand experience in family court, particularly as I fight for full custody of my children, has provided me with a unique perspective on the legal process and has intensified my commitment to becoming a legal advocate for those who are unable or too afraid to speak up for themselves. Navigating the family court system has been both challenging and enlightening. It has exposed me to the complexities and intricacies of legal procedures, as well as the emotional toll these proceedings can take on individuals and families. This journey has not only deepened my understanding of the law but has also ignited a passion for using legal advocacy to support and empower others facing similar challenges. From a young age, the law has intrigued me with its potential to shape society and influence individual lives. The legal profession holds a unique position as both a tool for justice and a means of empowerment, and the opportunity to contribute to this cause by helping others navigate the legal system is incredibly motivating. My personal experience in family court has shown me the transformative power of legal advocacy and its potential to bring about positive change. Throughout my custody battle, I have witnessed firsthand the fear and uncertainty that many individuals face when confronting legal challenges. The courtroom can be an intimidating environment, particularly for those who are unfamiliar with the legal process or feel marginalized by the system. This experience has instilled in me a strong desire to be a voice for those who are too afraid to speak up or who lack the resources to advocate for themselves effectively. I want to use my legal knowledge and skills to help others overcome these barriers and ensure that their rights are protected. In addition to my personal experiences, I am driven by a broader commitment to social justice and equality. The legal system has the power to address systemic injustices and create a more equitable society. As a lawyer, I aspire to contribute to this mission by advocating for policies and practices that promote fairness and equal access to justice. Whether it is fighting for the rights of individuals in family court or working on broader issues of social inequality, I am determined to use my legal skills to make a positive difference. Moreover, my experience in family court has highlighted the need for compassionate and empathetic legal representation. It has taught me that being a lawyer is not just about understanding the law but also about connecting with clients on a personal level and understanding their unique circumstances. I am committed to approaching my legal career with empathy and a genuine desire to help others, particularly those who are facing difficult and emotionally charged situations. In conclusion, my desire to practice law is deeply rooted in my personal experiences and my commitment to helping others. My firsthand experience in family court has provided me with valuable insights into the legal system and has inspired me to be an advocate for those who are too afraid to speak up for themselves. I am driven by a passion for justice, a commitment to empathy and compassion, and a desire to create a more equitable society. As a lawyer, I hope to use my knowledge and skills to empower others and make a meaningful impact in their lives.
