In the last seven years, I've faced many challenges with determination. I left my home country to study abroad, despite being a first-time traveler and feeling far from my comfort zone. Along the way, I pursued a graduate degree and became a licensed mental health therapist. Now, I'm working on my Ph.D. in a different field of study - Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
During this time, I also experienced personal setbacks. I lost my only living grandparent while I was far away, and I couldn't attend her funeral. It was heartbreaking but it didn't stop me from pursuing my dreams.
As an ethnic minority, a woman, a first-generation scholar, and an international student, my diverse background has given me a unique perspective. It helps me understand cultural differences and diversity, which is crucial for creating a more inclusive world.
I have discovered a new career goal which is to make a positive impact at an organizational level. I want to help create fair and healthy workplaces through people. My current research interests include studying how organizations can be more sustainable, retention strategies and challenges, and ways to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion in organizations.
My journey has been about pushing boundaries, embracing change, and learning from various life experiences. I'm excited to continue my academic and professional journey, using what I've learned to contribute to the field of I/O Psychology in meaningful ways

My dream or goal in my life is to be able to provide for my family. My parents have worked tremendously hard in their whole lives so that I could pursue higher education to break the intergenerational education cycle. Being a first-generation college student, it is my goal in life to build generational wealth that I will be able to pass down to my children.
