I am also a drummer for my church and love to lead worship. I am in need of funding to keep my journey going, rather if it's in the streets as an officer or investigation, or playing under the lights in the MLB. Nichols College will be the start of all my goals and dreams, I am ready to work hard on and off the field and become the best student-athlete and person I can become.       Hello, I am Michael Traupman from Rhode Island and love the game of baseball. I am currently a senior in high school at Bishop Hendricken and am very blessed to be playing at the next level at Nichols College in Massachusetts. I am a righty 6 foot 1 first baseman who has a lot of power and is a hard worker looking to keep moving up in the game as I set my goals to get drafted in college to the MLB. I love baseball because it is always there for me and it is always progressing and requires a lot of work and challenge. I have had some hardships playing the game but God helped me overcome them. I was once blinded by a ball for 9 days in my left eye and wasn't expected to see again, and had a traumatic brain injury on top of it all from the impact of the ball. But this never stopped me as even in my younger teens when this occurred I was determined to make it and one day be drafted. And now I am extremely blessed to see but also to be one step closer to achieving my goals on the field as college baseball will be a huge stepping stone for me to get to where I want to be. Also in college, I will be studying criminology the whys and hows of a crime and also the investigation aspect as I want to be an officer or agent and give back to the community and help my beautiful country. Now the question above asks about my favorite team and players this can be a big deal breaker as I am a Yankees fan! I grew up as one and am a die heart fan I look forward to nothing more than watching the boys take the field as I watch almost all 162 games. The Yankees and baseball really are who I am and the players have been a huge part of my life I see players like Rivera on and off the field by the all start as he is, so strong and his faith and so giving to his community and on top of the baseballs greatest closer ever. I want to be that person one day the player who a child looks up to who helps guide and gives back in every way he can. This will all be a start at Nichols College as I will start my career and studies to be the best player and person I can be.
