Bio

I am Michael Fisher, a senior at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School with a passion for helping people and seeing them smile. Through my school and as a member of the National Honor Society, I regularly volunteer for community service events, for example, a blood drive at my school that I helped to organize and run and that I donated blood myself. One of my goals in life is to be as helpful as I can to other people which Is why I aspire to earn a master's degree and become a Physician's Assistant, Physical Therapist, or teacher. I take my education extremely serious as it is one of the most important things to me. Throughout high school I have taken several AP courses, kept a sequence in the PLTW Biomed program, and taken and passed numerous honors courses, all while maintaining a high average and being awarded Honor Roll status for every semester. Through my hard work, I was awarded two National Recognition awards from The College Board. Outside of school, I am a dedicated varsity Lacrosse player and work as a music teacher at a youth organization for young kids in my community. Everything I've accomplished in my life, I've done so while struggling with a neurological disorder, ADHD, and I plan to accomplish even more because I won't let anything stop me from being great. I accept every challenge of my disorder as opportunities for growth. My dedication and determination, I believe, are my best qualities and make me a great candidate.

    Marian "Nana" Rouche Memorial Scholarship
I am Michael Fisher, a senior at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School with a passion for helping people and seeing them smile. Everything I've accomplished in my life, I've done so while struggling with a neurological disorder, ADHD, and I plan to accomplish even more because I won't let anything stop me from being great. I accept every challenge of my disorder as opportunities for growth. I know I have the ability and the grit to focus on my education and complete it no matter what life throws at me. I take my education extremely serious as it is one of the most important things to me. As I am a first generation college student, I not only want to make myself proud and be a strong contribution in life, but also want to make my family proud as well. However, this multiple hundred dollar sum will be a formidable obstacle. With hard work and determination throughout my High School academia, I have taken several AP courses, kept a sequence in the Project Lead The Way Biomed Program offered at my school, and taken with passing, numerous honors courses. All while maintaining a high average and being awarded Honor Roll status for every semester. In my personal life and through my school as a member of the National Honor Society, I regularly volunteer for community service events. These events range from feeding those in need, to my organizing and running a blood drive at my school, to volunteering for the American Cancer Society. Outside of school, I am a dedicated varsity Lacrosse player and work as a music teacher at a youth organization for young kids in my community. My dedication and determination, I believe, are my best qualities and make me a great candidate. One of my goals in life is to be as helpful as I can to other people. This is why I aspire to earn a master's degree and become a Doctor, Physician's Assistant, Physical Therapist, or Teacher. This scholarship would benefit me as it would help to relieve the stress of the financial pressures associated with me attending college. I will be able to concentrate less on the debt and focus more on my studies, participate in internships-rather than working, and get involved with other extracurricular activities that can further enhance my higher educational experience. The less debt I have, the better and brighter my future will be.
