Throughout my time at Alexander High School, I've learned how important it is to give back to the community that has supported me. Whether through baseball or my church, I’ve had the privilege of being involved in activities that bring people together and make a positive impact. These experiences have not only shaped me as a person but have also fueled my belief that our community can become even stronger when we all work together. Baseball has always been a huge part of my life, and being a leader on the team has given me the chance to mentor and inspire younger players. I don’t just focus on helping them become better athletes; I also emphasize the importance of teamwork, discipline, and being a positive influence in the community. We’ve organized local youth clinics where older players teach the basics of the game to younger kids. These clinics aren’t just about improving baseball skills—they’re about building relationships and showing the younger generation that they have role models who care about them, both on and off the field. At church, I’ve had the opportunity to work with the youth group and be a mentor to younger kids. We’ve organized community service days where we come together to help out around town—whether it’s cleaning up parks, assisting elderly neighbors, or collecting donations for families in need. These events bring people from all walks of life together, and it's incredible to see how a simple act of service can create a sense of unity and shared purpose. Looking forward, I believe there’s even more we can do to strengthen our community, especially when it comes to engaging the younger generation. One idea I have is to start a mentorship program that connects high school students with younger kids. It wouldn’t just focus on sports but also on life skills, tutoring, and teaching leadership. This could help kids build stronger relationships with older mentors who can guide them through tough situations. I also think we should create more opportunities to focus on mental health awareness, especially for the youth, as it's something that often gets overlooked. Providing support and resources for mental well-being can help young people feel more connected and understood. Ultimately, I believe that by continuing to invest in each other—whether through sports, church, or community service—we can create a stronger, more connected community. Working together, we can ensure that future generations will have the support they need to thrive, both individually and as part of a larger whole.
