With its ever-expanding growth and influence, computer science offers boundless opportunities for innovation and discovery. As an aspiring contributor to this dynamic field, I recognize the importance of individual initiative and collaborative effort in driving progress. In this essay, I will discuss ways I can help computer science grow, using my abilities, passions, and commitment to pushing technology forward.
First, continuous learning and skill development are essential to contributing effectively to computer science. By keeping up with the newest progress in programming languages, algorithms, and emerging technologies, I can expand my knowledge and become more specialized in areas that interest me. Going after higher degrees, participating in workshops and conferences, and taking online courses are ways to improve my skills and stay ahead in the world of technology.
In addition to personal development, working together and sharing knowledge is vital to advancing computer science. By joining academic groups like research teams and online forums, I can share ideas, work on projects with others, and help everyone learn. By collaborating, I can benefit from other researchers and professionals' different viewpoints and skills, improving my knowledge and making valuable contributions to the industry.
Moreover, I can significantly impact computer science by engaging in research and innovation. I can enhance artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data science by addressing critical issues and developing new ideas. Whether through theoretical studies, experiments, or real-world implementations, research enables me to expand the frontiers of knowledge and bring valuable insights to the industry.
Furthermore, I can contribute to computer science by creating software that effectively tackles practical issues and empowers individuals. Whether it involves designing applications to simplify business operations, developing educational software to enhance learning results, or crafting tools to aid scientific research, software development presents an influential avenue for making a concrete difference in society. By utilizing my technical expertise and imagination to devise groundbreaking solutions, I can actively contribute to the progress of technology and the betterment of people's lives.
Finally, I recognize the importance of ethical considerations in computer science and the need to address issues such as privacy, fairness, and accountability in the design and deployment of technology. By supporting ethical guidelines and responsible behavior, I can help create technology that benefits society and promotes fairness, equal treatment, and respect for all individuals.
Ultimately, I plan to make a diverse impact on computer science through research, creating software, teaching, mentoring, and promoting ethics. I aim to contribute significantly to computer science's progress and build a future where technology benefits humanity's biggest dreams by continuously learning, working with others, and using my tech skills and passion.

If I could improve one item in the world, it'd be how we approach life. In today's fast-paced world, there has been such an exponential growth in how our cognitive functions have changed. There is a much greater approach to life in a materialistic way. We've become more accustomed to measuring our worth and happiness by external present achievements than focusing on our inner fulfillment and future. However, by reevaluating and improving our fundamental approach to society, we'd usher in such a drastic change to the world we know today.
Our intentions lie in only ourselves; this creates conflict in simple decisions such as where to go for lunch can arise. We've become so hyper-focused on our satisfaction that even when we want to satisfy the person with us, it's because it ultimately satisfies us.
By incorporating practices such as meditation, self-reflection, and inner peace, we cultivate resilience, enabling us to navigate life more gracefully. What we prioritize and how we respond to the world should be meaningful. Becoming more balanced and aware makes one better equipped to create healthier relationships, settle conflict peacefully, and contribute positively to the community.
When I was younger and on my way to the United States, my aunt, cousin, and I gathered in a white room with four walls. We were all crammed together, each in our designated space. I felt alone in that room, as everyone seemed to be looking out for themselves. I witnessed terrible things that adults would do anything to escape this confinement. Once, I saw a woman give up her child in exchange for her freedom. This little girl, who couldn't have been much older than me, was sold to a man just so the woman could enter the United States. I was in a camp near the border where the people were supposed to 'help' us, but instead, I became terrified for my life. Everyone was trapped in their bubble, only concerned with their well-being. All their values had become mixed up for their selfish gain. I don't know what happened to the young girl, but I hope she's doing something great for herself somewhere in the world.
Additionally, transforming society's fundamental approach to life, especially in situations where everything can turn out wrong, requires collective effort. It entails altering our educational system and work environment and prioritizing equality, justice, and sustainability. By nurturing our creativity and learning ambition, we can foster an environment that can actively grow and flourish—creating a shift in how we maintain a dead flower that now stands out like a sore thumb in a garden full of life to make it bloom and shine like all the other flowers.
Improving our values and fundamental approach to life ultimately promises a more fulfilling, sustainable, and harmonious society. Embracing our personal growth and well-being allows us to thrive, for the world to become a better place, and not witness things that create a more dangerous and unsatisfying way of life.

My name is Mery Aldana, and I am a driven individual with a profound desire to contribute positively to the world through my future career in medicine. Growing up, I had a strong sense of compassion and hunger to help others. As I matured, I became increasingly fascinated by the medical field and its potential to improve lives. I'm a person who holds knowledge on a grand pedestal, and I am ambitious to continue to expand my knowledge, especially in something that can significantly impact my and others' lives.
My thirst for knowledge, empathy, and academic excellence can characterize my passion for pursuing a medical career. These attributes will help me make a meaningful difference in the world. One of the ways I plan to make a difference is by providing compassion and understanding to my patients. Although medicine is not all about illnesses, it's about an individual's emotional and social experience. By taking such an approach, I'd be able to foster a connection with my patients and build a wall of trust that empowers me to help them control their health and live a fulfilling life.
Moreover, I am passionate about addressing healthcare inequalities and ensuring everyone gets fair access. Whether volunteering, studying, or donating, I fight against unfairness and support health equality and everyone's access to health care. Additionally, I am committed to helping those less fortunate and unable to afford the quality health care they deserve. I plan on advocating and conducting research on healthcare inequality to make it something that everyone is entitled to.
Furthermore, I believe in the power that education has to inspire me and future generations. I am devoted to furthering my knowledge and supporting others with their passion for continuing to learn. I currently tutor kids in my church, teaching them to speak English properly. I am eager to help the community by providing them with quality education, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, by actively providing them with medical education and services.
Ultimately, my goal is to strengthen my skills, knowledge, and compassion to impact the world positively. Whether through healthcare, research, education, or advocacy, I am committed to impacting the world of medicine and beyond. To create a space where there is no judgment and give everyone who needs it equality. We aim to create a place where outsiders can look and think we're a united community and care for the well-being of others.
