I am a dedicated data science graduate student at the University of Denver, Colorado. Meeting women data scientists in my field transformed my perspective on STEM and inspired me to make a difference in my community. I aspire to use data science to improve the health and wellness of those around me.
Outside of my studies, I actively organize animal rescue missions for abandoned rabbits, cats, and dogs. This allows me to contribute to the welfare of animals and ensure they find loving homes. Additionally, I have been working tirelessly to connect the unhoused, including families and singles, with mental health services and housing resources since 2021.
Despite facing challenges growing up in a low-income, single-parent household as a refugee, my willpower and persistence have helped me achieve many goals. I remain determined, knowing that I am capable, strong, and blessed.
Looking forward, I am excited to merge my passion for data science with my commitment to my community and organization. By leveraging data-driven insights, I aim to make a lasting impact on health and wellness initiatives. I am grateful for the opportunities that have shaped my journey, and I eagerly anticipate the challenges and rewards that lie ahead.

One of my most significant achievements to date has been the pivotal role I played in helping my single mother raise my younger brother as immigrants in the United States. When my mother arrived in the U.S., she had only $500 in her pocket and limited English proficiency. She found a job as a dishwasher in a restaurant, working tirelessly from morning till night, while I took care of my brother, preparing his lunches, and assisting him with his schoolwork. This demanding responsibility persisted for eight long years, during which I attended school, cared for my brother, and witnessed my mother working full-time to provide us with a roof over our heads, clothing, and school supplies.
Through this experience, I discovered within myself an unwavering strength, an indomitable work ethic, and an ambitious nature. It was a journey that taught me to trust and believe in my own abilities, as my mother consistently instilled in me the values of resilience and determination needed to pursue my dreams. Her unwavering support encouraged me to embrace my potential and reach for the stars.
Looking ahead to the future, my aspirations revolve around becoming a data scientist who can serve as an inspiration for women from the Middle East, much like myself, to join the field of STEM and fearlessly pursue their dreams. I aim to be a guiding light, helping them believe in themselves and fostering their self-confidence so that they never doubt their abilities to become who they aspire to be. Empowering women to shatter societal norms and realize their full potential is a cause that resonates deeply with me.
Another essential goal I hold close to my heart is to provide for my mother and repay her selfless dedication by taking care of her, just as she has tirelessly cared for me throughout my life. I want to ensure her well-being and happiness, recognizing the sacrifices she made for our family. It is a testament to her love and devotion that I am inspired to work hard, succeed, and create a future in which she can fully enjoy the fruits of her labor.
I believe my journey of supporting my single mother and brother as immigrants has instilled in me a profound understanding of my strength, resilience, and ambition. I have learned to believe in myself and embrace challenges with determination. My future aspirations involve breaking barriers in the STEM field, empowering women from the Middle East to pursue their dreams, and providing a fulfilling life for my beloved mother.
