      Harry D Thomson Memorial Scholarship
Hello! My name is Megan, and i am thrilled to share with you how this scholarship would impact my life and support my aspirations. Over my high school years, I have embraced the challenges that came along that allowed me to grow my independence. I am eager to utilize the skills I have acquired as I move forward. One skill that has been pivotal in my personal growth is my confidence. High school has presented me with multiple academic and non-academic hurdles, and I have learned to approach them with self-assurance and determination. Whether it was presenting in front of large audiences or being proud of what I do, I have become adept at expressing myself confidently and overcoming self-doubt. Not to mention, my involvement in extracurricular activities has fostered valuable leadership and teamwork skills. As I was selected for the all conference team for girls varsity soccer in the Commonwealth Athletic Conference, I learned to communicate well with all my teammates to achieve our goals. These experiences have not only enhanced my ability to work with diverse groups but also instilled in me a sense of responsibility and accountability. With the support of this scholarship I intend to pursue a degree in healthcare. The financial assistance would relieve the burden on my family, allowing me to devote all my time and effort on my studies. I'm passionate about making a difference in people's lives and a degree in healthcare would provide me the knowledge and skills to achieve that goal. In college and beyond, I plan to utilize the skills I have developed in high school to navigate challenges and contribute to my positively to my community. By applying my confidence and communication skills, I aspire to advocate for patient's rights and work towards developing innovative solutions.
