Ever since I was a little, construction has been a large area of interest for me. I've always loved being around construction, and being a part of it, from being raised by my grand parents, which own a in-ground pool construction company. My grandfather would begin with the detailed design of a client's vision and turn it into their backyard reality. Seeing the transformation from start to finish was so admirable as being able to physically see your accomplishment. As I grew older, the passion followed me, and I did whatever I could to get myself around the construction field. I found myself hands on assisting with various construction projects which has broadened my scope and knowledge of many aspects of the career. I obtained my Texas Real Estate License where I became further involved with residential remodeling having multiple investing clients.
I knew that a degree in building construction would be perfect for me. I believe that my love for construction will allow me succeed in the industry because I will love my career, and I will always enjoy learning new things about the industry. My interest in construction has made school much more enjoyable because I am learning about something that I am truly passionate about.
On the other hand, my career vision is to assist in closing the gender gap within the construction industry. However, I am certain that if I do not complete my college degree I could never have the opportunity to achieve my career goals.
