Hello there! I'm Martin and I'm a high school senior who is always ready to be comfortable with the uncomfortable. Many of my friends and family would describe me as outgoing, diligent, and meticulous. I'm interested in pursuing chemical engineering as an academic interest for a bachelor's degree and want to obtain a master's degree in economics.
Some of my other goals in life include starting an education app that helps children with their homework, improving my emotional intelligence, publishing fiction books and short stories, learning to speak a second language, continuing to volunteer for organizations that combat poverty and food insecurity, and graduate from post-secondary without student loan debt.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading dystopian and speculative fiction books, creative writing such as writing poetry, drawing aesthetic imagery, playing basketball, running, travelling, and volunteering. I like getting involved in volunteering opportunities that relate to issues I am passionate about such as poverty and the environment.

As the pandemic and colder weather keeps more people indoors, using online shopping sites has never been more suitable. To get the best deals online, I use the following sites:
1.Lyst.com.
Lyst has the most diverse variety of fashion styles to choose from compared to any other clothing website I have visited. The clothes are well-designed and high-quality. Also, they always offer very affordable deals and discounts.
2.Wish.com.
Wish is a convenient shopping site because of its unbelievably low prices. The deals there are quite thrifty.
3.Barnes & Noble.
One of my favourite hobbies is reading and it has inspired me to start creative writing. To support my interest, I get books at Barnes & Nobles to get the best deals on books and because they always have interesting book recommendations for me to read.
Giving Thanks Scholarship
My friend is a real friend, she doesn’t play pretend.
My friend is a real friend, we always make amends.
She has my back through thick and thin;
Through any obstacle that I go through, she accompanies me
as we weather the storm, hand in hand.
I’m lucky to have her in my life;
she always appeals to my delight.
When I’m upset about anything,
she's the first one to help me through it.
Even though we’re apart and she's advancing to the next chapter of your life,
we always keep each other in mind
and make the most of our precious time.
Like complementary colours, our personalities complement each other so well,
and I’m grateful that I belong in her life.
I want to thank her:
for her kind and empathetic heart,
for always being the one person I can count on to be at school early,
for always coming from a place of encouragement when no one else will,
and for her light-hearted, witty humour.
As she progresses through life, I hope that she
keeps her remarkable intelligence, resilience, and optimism
within her and can combat any obstacle that comes her way.
Cheers to my best friend,
for she deserves a blessed future
and more life!

A song that inspires me: 20 Something by SZA
My life is confusing, stressful, convoluted, and lacks many of the things that I desire: tranquillity, certainty, and hope. My playlist transitions from a melancholic tone consisting of themes such as uncertainty and introspection to a more optimistic tone consisting of major life goals that are plausible for me to have: loyalty and honesty in my relationships, being patient amidst mishaps in life, and serendipity. My curated playlist inspires me because it connects to my experiences where I felt like my life was falling apart and helps heal my emotional wounds.
