I am a passionate, hard worker who gains the most fulfillment in my life by giving my all in everything I do. Within my career as a young professional thus far, I've had the pleasure of managing two hotels in two states, as well as later performing the role of Production Coordinator of a construction company. As a first generation student, I've found myself very lucky to have the opportunity to take this time to work towards a better future for myself and my family.
I am working towards becoming an X-Ray and MRI Technologist, with a goal to work with the mobile clinics in my area to bring critical diagnostic services to those who must be met where they are at. As a former foster-care alumni, once I have acheived and settled into my career as a Diagnostic Imaging Tech, I plan to give back to the system that helped me and open my home to foster and provide a stable and caring enviornment for displaced children, as I was.

My decision to pursue a career in Diagnostic Medicine as an X-ray/MRI technologist was not only motivated by a personal interest in human anatomy and photography, but a desire and goal to be in a position to help and support others the way my mother, my siblings, and I were supported when we were young. Being beholden to my mother's struggles, forced to leave home as a new mother at 14 years old, has opened my eyes to the importance of stability and the critical effects the presence or absence of stability can have on individuals.
Growing up, I watched my mother fight to make ends meet, often without the resources or support she needed. My mother battled with drug abuse for many years, and by the time I was three, we found ourselves living out of my mom's car, "camping" for weeks at a time, or sleeping on my mom's friend's couches and floors for a few nights at a time, when we could. The generosity and compassion of others during our darkest times inspired me to pursue a life where I can make a tangible and positive difference in people's lives, and showed me the importance of building and nurturing a sturdy support system. I became more aware of the fact that giving to those around you, even by just showing kindness and care that you can spare, can be lifechanging for anyone-- you just might not know it, yourself. This concept fascinated me, and still does, as we never know what anyone around us is going through and the effects that kindness may have on their situation, or even a moment.
As an aspiring Diagnostic Imaging technologist, it's my hope that I will get to be there for individuals who may be facing their own battles, whether due to economic hardship, health issues, or other life challenges. I want to be the person who provides not only medical diagnostic assistance in a patient's time of need(and possibly the worst day of their life) but also compassion, a sense of stability, and safety. I have seen firsthand how the lack of access to adequate resources can perpetuate cycles of poverty and disadvantage-- because I lived it personally-- and I am committed to being part of the solution. I am driven by the need to create a different narrative for myself; one where I can achieve my goals and provide a stable home for my future family. In doing so, I honor the resilience of my mother and the lessons I’ve learned from her struggles, while building a future where I can provide the stability and care that we once so desperately needed.
