I started playing baseball when I was four years old and have loved it ever since. I currently go to Moeller high school and play varsity baseball there, and have played baseball with CBC Mariucci for the past three summers. We had a great year last year and were able to go 5-2 in one of the toughest summer tournaments in Atlanta. I love baseball because of all the strategy that goes into it, how it takes everyone from a team to win, and the lessons you learn from it. First I love the back in forth mental game between team and team and hitters and pitchers. You are on the mound and you are trying to change eye levels and locations of your pitches to throw off the batter, while the batter is trying to guess what pitch you are going to throw. Also, there is never a play off. If you are at first and a triple is hit into the gap, it may seem there is nothing to do, but you have to follow the runner to cover second. I love how you have to play as a team to win in baseball. Everyone has to do their part to win, as one error could lose a game, or the opposite, you can't win a game if only one guy has a good game. Lastly is the lessons you learn. You grow in brotherhood and learn how to be a better teammate. You learn to be a leader. You learn that you have to work hard to be successful. My team is the Cincinnati Reds. I grew up in Cincinnati and have been a die hard fan since. I go to as many games as I can during the summer, and watch on TV if I can't go. Even though last season was rough, I am excited for our future with guys like Greene, Lodolo, De La Cruz, Mcclain, and Marte. I had season tickets in the all star season during 2015 and that leas me to my favorite memory. I went to the home run derby in Cincinnati when Todd Frazier won. I was the best atmosphere I have ever been a part of, and it gets be excited to what Cincinnati will be like once we are a playoff team. My favorite player of all time is Johnny Cueto. I grew up watching him with the reds, and the way he pitchers fantasizes me. He doesn't have overpowering stuff, but he uses timing, location, and pitch selection to give him the great career he has had. My favorite position is pitcher. I am a pitcher, and I like the position because it gives you the control of the game. You have to control the base paths while trying to hit a spot. Every pitch is a mind game with the hitter, and it makes every pitch, exciting, competitive, and fun. Baseball has brought me countless memories and I couldn't even think about a life without the greatest game on earth.
