My name is Matt, and I was raised with seven siblings (and often others) in a low income home here in Longview, WA.
I love our city, and many of the people in it. But growing up i noticed a great number of issues that needed addressed. So my siblings and I started volunteering when I was 11 years old, helping where we could.
I graduated highschool with more than 1000 hours of community service and at 16 started my own program giving away bicycles under a local non profit.
After graduating, I attended a local collage, LCC, for a degree in music which I later switched to business.
I have just finished a seven year role helping develop and build a non profit working across our county to transform lives.
And looking forward I would like to finally try and achieve a lifelong dream of mine, becoming a pilot.
My grandfather was a pilot, flying small planes out of our little local airport. I was too young to remember him then, and as he passed away this last year my family said goodbye to the last adventurous aviator in the family.
This summer, while I was volunteering at a summer camp, a high school age volunteer shared how he'd gotten his pilots license, and encouraged me to look into it.
After my first flight I was hooked, ready to start school online and fly whenever the weather allows it.
If possible I'd like to make my living flying, inviting others to join me, in the hopes of inspiring the next generation and changing perspectives

Brad Snyder!
Hands down the most inspiring athlete we watched! I may be biased being a red head my self, but that guy can over come anything.
Watching and cheering for him, having my little girl turn to me and say, daddy he kind of looks like you. And when I told her I didn't know if I could ever be as great as him she told me I already was.
We tuned in for every event and presentation he was a part of from that moment on.
I may never dream to be a professional athlete myself, not since a hip injury while snow boarding, but I do dream of flying.
And when I make my dream of being a commercial pilot come true if me honored to fly any part of team usa wherever they needed to be.
Not everyone can be an inspiring athlete, but we can all do our best to show these inspiring individuals to our world.
Whether that means cooking them a nutritious meal or flying them 10 hours to another country, it takes a village to equip the best and brightest in America to compete at the top levels.
And I'd be honored to be a part of that some day.
