I was raised on a farm and my parents always taught me that I need to work hard. So that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to work hard to achieve my dreams. I want to finish up with my 2 year automotive technician degree and get my AA by the end of next school year.
I plan on making a difference in my career as an automotive mechanic by providing myself with a skill that is in demand and pays well in even rural areas where I live and plan to live after graduation. I have always loved working with my hands and also enjoy understanding how things work and to figure out why something is not working. I truly love doing mechanic work and feel like I am lucky to have found something that I am passionate about doing for my career.
Then after school is done I plan on moving back home and working at a dealership until I become a master tech and learn as much as I can while doing so. I want to open my own shop eventually so I can run my family's farm while doing something else I love.
Receiving this scholarship will help me fulfill my dream because as of right now I don't have enough money to cover my tuition, tools and rent. I'll be working hard this summer at a shop to make money but I'll still be relying on scholarships. I just want to say thank you for considering me for this scholarship and taking your time to read my letter.

I was raised on a farm and my parents always taught me that I need to work hard. So that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to work hard to achieve my dreams. I want to finish up with my 2 year automotive technician degree and get my AA by the end of next school year. That way if I want to go to a four years to get my business or mechanical engineering I'm already done with my generals and I just have to do the required classes. Then after school is done I plan on moving back home and working at a dealership until I become a master tech and learn as much as I can while doing so. Then eventually I want to open my own shop so I can run my family's farm while doing something else I love.
Growing up on a farm, I have learned how important it is to have a lot of skill sets in many areas to be able to fix things and keep up with the maintenance on the farm. I believe hard work is a cornerstone to success and I am not afraid of working hard to chase my dream of becoming a mechanic.
I am very interested in learning as many components as possible around mechanics, including electric vehicle certification, as well as all the makes such as, Ford, Chevrolet, GM, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, and more. With each certification, I will be able to diagnose, understand what parts, schematics, and repairs are necessary to repair any make of vehicle.
I want to be able to make a good income as an automotive mechanic to be able to live comfortably and support my family. But, I also understand how important it is for our community to have good trades/skilled labor and I also believe in giving back and helping others. I feel like with this career that I will be able to make a good living by working hard, but also be able to volunteer some time/labor to those less fortunate and need help. i would like to move back near my family's farm in rural central Minnesota after graduation. With my skill sets in mechanics, I will be able to assist my family as well as work at a dealership and someday, hopefully opening my own garage and continuing to live in my wonderful hometown.
My parents always told my siblings and me to dream big and don't let anything stop you from achieving what you want. I believe that this is possible, especially when you are passionate about something because it makes it easy to work hard for and to put in the extra work and effort. But, having someone show their support through awarding a scholarship not only supports my dream, but makes it seem more realistic and provides some added confidence that I can reach my goals.
