I have a love for storytelling and bringing my ideas to life, so I started video editing at the age of 12, this sparked my love for marketing and i would love to pursue marketing because it is telling a story that sparks a connection with consumers.
I am now working on a project to create a platform for the people in need in my community, so their voices can be heard. This platform will provide a place where their stories and experiences can be shared in order to educate others and bring an end to the negative stigmas associated with homelessness.
Through this platform, we will showcase their contributions and achievements, while also advocating for the need for affordable housing, mental health resources, and other support services. I believe that by sharing their stories, we can inspire change and create a more compassionate and inclusive society.

Krewe de HOU Scholarship
For the past year, my family and I have traveled down to Fort Worth twice a month and share a meal with those who need it the most. this tradition has changed my life completely. Watching line form around the whole block for a sandwich, changed my perspective on life in general, and snapped me out of my ignorance. This day we started as a day I knew we had to continue. I came home and started thinking of ways that I can make an impact in my community
, because even when we ran out of food, they still said “thank you“ and even said, “God bless you.”and “you’re amazing”. I want to learn every single one of their names and their stories. This moment made me realize my purpose. Being able to win this scholarship would start the foundation of my dreams. I want the world to know every single one of their stories and I want them to be heard. And that’s what I plan on doing. I want to make a platform where the people I see twice a month can share their stories with the world. I am so grateful for this opportunity that opened my eyes. I never knew that hundreds of people are standing out in 110° Texas weather every day rain or shine in my own community. they need help and they need to be heard. I have lived in a bubble my whole life, sheltered from seeing the hardships of life. Witnessing the line forming around the block for water, and seeing their faces when we ran out, snapped me out of my ignorance. Watching the children, young parents, and the disabled elderly sitting outside in 110° changed my perspective on life in general. Even when we ran out they continued to smile. This made me appreciate the impact of giving back. This is a tradition that my family enjoys and has made me grow a love of serving my community. I feel so grateful and privileged to have the opportunity to be able to do this every month. This contributes to who i am because it made me realize that i truly want to help people. I aspire to establish a meaningful platform, providing a voice for these incredible individuals to share their stories. Through this, I hope to actively contribute to breaking down the unjust stigma surrounding the homeless population.
Doña Lupita Immigrant Scholarship
My amazing mother, who raised us on her own and moved all of her five kids to the United States has taught me the value of hard work and perseverance. The most difficult lesson she has taught me, however, is the importance of loving not only others but also ourselves. Growing up in a single-parent household, I have witnessed all the sacrifices my mother made for our family every day. She often worked long hours to put food on the table and provide us with the opportunities we needed to succeed. Despite the challenges she faced being a single parent to little children and a college student, she has never lost sight of her love for her children.
One of the most important lessons my mother taught me is that hard work and dedication can lead to success. I watched her work tirelessly, even on days when she was exhausted, to provide us with a better life. She taught me that if you work hard enough, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. This lesson has been a driving force for me throughout my life, pushing me to strive for excellence in everything I do. Even when we were struggling financially I never knew anything about that struggle until I recently asked her the reason why we immigrated, she made sure to give my siblings a happy childhood and made the best of what we had.
Another valuable lesson my mother taught me is the importance of loving and accepting oneself. She has always encouraged me to have confidence in who I am, even when I face adversity. When I struggled with self-doubt, she assured me that I was capable of achieving my goals. She taught me that it is okay to be imperfect and that we are all unique in our way. This lesson has helped me to build strong resilience and a positive self-doubt. She assured me that I was capable of achieving my goals. She taught me that it is okay to be imperfect and that we are all unique in our way. This lesson has helped me to build strong resilience and a positive self-image.
Overall, my mother has taught me valuable life lessons that have helped me become the person I am today. I am grateful for her love and dedication to our family, and for sharing with me the importance of hard work and self-love.
Beatrice Diaz Memorial Scholarship
I have never been great with words, so while others write their feelings In a diary, I express my feelings on a software app called Adobe After Effects. From a young age, I have been obsessed with video editing and the creative process. With my multiple editing accounts on Instagram and YouTube which I started at 12, I was able to build a platform to showcase my work and share my creativity with others. As my passion for getting better grew, I begged my dad to let me use his Macbook and I dedicated my time during quarantine to teaching myself how to use Adobe After Effects to create unique videos, although learning how to work After Effects after using a mobile app for years was extremely difficult, it never discouraged me. I am always striving to learn new techniques and push myself. Video editing on one project takes hours, even days, but I loved every single part of the process. Watching myself become better and finding my editing style was a huge motivation for me because I became the person that the younger me would look up to, Editing is telling a story through visuals and audio, I use different techniques and effects to enhance or change the narrative, from listening to the music over and over to creating my transitions and bringing my ideas to life every single part of the process excited me. After I gained a couple thousand followers on Instagram I started making tutorials on YouTube. Nobody asked for tutorials from me but I just loved the process of video editing so much that I wanted to share my knowledge with the world, I then had to take a break from YouTube posting, because I loved it so much that I prioritized it over my school work and couldn’t find a healthy balance between my hobbies and education. This experience has not only allowed me to express myself creatively but also demonstrated my dedication and passion for video editing and expressing myself. Through my editing account on Instagram and YouTube, I have constantly pushed myself to try harder, innovate, and experiment with new tools to improve my work. These efforts have led me to meet many kids my age from all over the world who share my passion for video editing. Making me feel less alone and allowing me to develop a new perspective of the world. My goal is to build on my video editing skills and major in marketing so when I do graduate from college I'll have two skills that work together very well and go into advertising.
