I have always been fascinated by the idea of bringing justice to those who have been wronged. The concept of ensuring fairness and helping others find closure and peace is something that deeply resonates with me. I aspire to leave a positive mark on this world, and I believe that pursuing a career in criminal justice is the perfect way to make my impact. Law enforcement and the study of criminal minds have always piqued my interest. It's a field that combines my passion for justice with my curiosity about human behavior, which is why I plan to study criminology once I graduate from high school. In addition to my academic ambitions, I also want to serve my country. I believe that doing so will provide me with the necessary discipline and experience to excel in my career. Serving in the armed forces while pursuing my studies will allow me to develop a strong foundation of skills and values that are essential in the field of criminal justice. After completing my education, I will work diligently to achieve my dream career in a law-enforcement related field.
Currently, I volunteer once a week at an at-risk youth program in Fontana called Jr. FLIP. This program has been a significant influence on my aspirations. I have learned a lot from the police officers who run the program. They, along with all the wonderful kids I've met, truly inspire me. The officers' dedication and the resilience of the children there have shown me the profound impact hat positive role models and guidance can have. I am determined to work as hard as I can to become a youth juvenile officer and eventually, a parole officer. I have a very open mind and find that I absorb knowledge quickly. This adaptability is crucial, as I am open to pursuing alternate careers within the criminal justice field if necessary.
Growing up in a low-income, high-crime neighborhood without much access to education, I know firsthand what it's like to face the same struggles many of the kids I tutor experience. I want to use my challenging experiences to positively connect and bond with youth who are headed down the wrong path. My ultimate goal is to work hard and leave a lasting, meaningful impact. I am passionate about using my education as a tool to uplift and create opportunities for those who, like my family and I, are financially struggling. Winning this scholarship would grant me the chance to bring these dreams to life, create a difference in my community, and make my parents proud. The opportunity to pursue my goals without the burden of financial strain would allow me to focus entirely on making a positive change in the world.

I believe I'll truly understand what success means once I've fulfilled my purpose here on earth. I hope to make a positive impact in my community and inspire others to do the same. Someday, I want to help those in need and take care my family. To me, success is all about the effort you put into reaching your goals. Just like Eric Thomas said, "When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you'll be successful." Success isn't just about personal achievements, but about the impact you have on the lives of others. Whether it's through volunteering, mentoring, or simply being a supportive person, I will always find a way to uplift those around me.

Growing up in a low-income, high-crime neighborhood without much access to education, I know firsthand what it's like to face adversity. One of the most significant challenges I have faced is the lack of involvement of my family in my academic life. As a child, I excelled in school and was consistently regarded as one of the “smart kids”. I knew that both my parents never had the chance to do well in school or even attend, which motivated me to succeed, since they were robbed of that opportunity. Neither of my parents completed high school, nor did any of my grandparents. By the time I graduate high school, I’ll be the first in my family to do so. Since my parents learned to live their lives without the experience of obtaining a high school diploma, they have always failed to appreciate the importance of graduating. Unlike many of my peers, whose parents hold stricter academic standards, mine never understood how important an education is and consequently never felt the need to be stern about it. As a result of this, I’ve always had to apply myself way more than my peers.
Another challenge I faced, which really affected my education, was the constant relocation to different cities. While I was still in elementary school, my family and I moved around quite often. Hopping from one school to another wasn’t easy for a young girl, especially since I gained countless friends only to end up losing them in the midst of it all. To make matters worse, moving from one setting to another meant constantly adjusting to new environments, making it difficult to keep up with school since different districts apply separate curriculum. Despite this, I was able to form many connections over the years. I’ve learned that networking is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. While networking might not be widely recognized to younger teenagers, it has proven extremely beneficial in helping me prepare for the future and building relationships. Although transitioning from different schools affected me personally, it taught me some valuable lessons that will help me in the future.
Despite both of these setbacks, I learned to navigate my education on my own. This taught me discipline, time management, and independence. I had to become my own advocate and push myself to achieve academic success. These experiences shaped me into a resilient and determined individual who values education even more now. Moving forward, I am extremely grateful for the lessons learned and the people I have met throughout my educational journey. Even though things got rough at times, I am glad that I gained from it and will continue to employ knowledge from my own experience.

My advice is not to get wrapped up in your hardships and not to let them define you. You are more than your issues, more than your difficulties, and more than your problems. You are more than the things that drag you down. Embrace the challenges you face as opportunities for growth. Continue to work hard so you can prove to yourself that you will not let your life take control of you, but rather you will take control of your life. Life is full of ups and downs, and it is during the toughest times that your true strength and character are revealed. Remember, stay focused on your goals, keep working to improve yourself every day, and seek out opportunities to learn and grow.

During my youth, my family and I didn’t own many nice things. I couldn’t understand why my parents had to work so hard just to earn minimum wage while there were people having everything handed to them their whole lives. It pained me to see them struggle to pay bills and failing to pay rent on multiple occasions. I promised myself that one day we would never have to struggle again. Their hardships motivated me to succeed, so I did. Throughout high school, I did well enough academically to be considered one of the “smart kids”. I quickly learned that knowledge is one of the most powerful tools you can possess. Highschool proved to me that education is necessary for growth, so I made up my mind to further my education not just for myself, but to honor my parents' sacrifices.
