    • Dream career goals:

Plan of Action: 1. Legal Support: I plan to offer free legal services to victims of predatory lending. This will include representing them in court, helping them understand their rights, and guiding them through the complex legal processes. 2. Community Education: I will conduct workshops and seminars to educate homeowners about predatory lending practices, their rights, and how to protect themselves. 3. Advocacy: I will use my legal expertise to advocate for stronger laws and regulations against predatory lending. This will involve lobbying lawmakers, working with advocacy groups, and raising public awareness about the issue. Impact: By providing free legal support, I can help victims of predatory lending fight back and potentially save their homes. Through education, I can empower homeowners to protect themselves from predatory lenders. And through advocacy, I can contribute to systemic change that will make predatory lending less prevalent.

Combating Predatory Lending: A Personal Mission to Advocate for Homeowner Rights Introduction: I am writing to you as a woman, a mother, and a passionate advocate for justice. My name is Marina, a current student in the graduate law program at Regent law school. My dream is to become a real estate lawyer, dedicated to fighting against predatory lending practices that have caused countless families, including my own, to lose their homes. My family's experience has not only shaped my personal life but also my professional aspirations. I am committed to using my legal education to fight against predatory lending practices and advocate for homeowner rights. Predatory lending has become a widespread issue, causing countless families, including my own, to lose their homes. This experience has given me a firsthand understanding of the emotional and financial toll it takes on victims. It has also ignited a passion within me to prevent others from suffering the same fate. My objective is to utilize my legal education to combat predatory lending practices. I aim to provide pro bono legal support to victims, educate communities about their rights, and advocate for stricter regulations and penalties for predatory lenders. Plan of Action: 1. Through education, I can empower homeowners to protect themselves from predatory lenders. And through advocacy, I can contribute to systemic change that will make predatory lending less prevalent. Conclusion: However, the path to becoming a lawyer is not an easy one, especially as a mother of four young children, ranging from infancy to eight years old. The demands of my studies, coupled with the responsibilities of motherhood, are immense. Yet, I am committed to this path, not just for myself, but for my children and for the countless families who have been victims of predatory lending. The grant funds I am seeking will be instrumental in supporting my educational journey. They will be allocated towards purchasing essential educational materials, such as textbooks and legal reference books, and enrolling in professional courses that will enhance my understanding of real estate law and predatory lending practices. These resources are crucial in equipping me with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively advocate for victims of predatory lending. The hardship my family endured due to predatory lending has fueled my determination to fight for homeowner rights. With the support of this scholarship, I can further my legal education and make a significant impact in the fight against predatory lending.
