My son passed away it will be two years ago on March 5,2024. For me my journey has not been easy because right after his passing I had to have brain surgery. It seems like one thing after another, my son is six and he doesn’t understand to this day, he talks about going to heaven on a regular basis. He says he don’t want to leave my hugs and kisses is the only reason he wants to be on earth. Things have been hard we have been homeless about four years now, trying to get my disability, the denial has been really tough. During the process I can’t work so our income limits use, my family prays daily for our own home. A little about my son who passed he was 14 kids were very jealous of him. He was number one in everything he done football, wrestling, baseball, he had just started a new adventure doing track. He also was on principals honor roll straight an and b student. I always told him b’s are bad so that’s all he knew and thought so he would strive for all a’s. He was always in gifted and talented and just loved life. After his passing I fell into a deep dark depression that no one even noticed I was suicidal and everyone keep saying get it together you still have two other children. It’s easy for other people to say that when they aren’t in your shoes. I really believe the only thing changed me was enrolling in school. Yes I do have comprehension issues so something are more difficult then others but I just knew I love getting education. Going for a bachelors was one goal that I must complete. At forty years old this goal hasn’t been easy to complete either but my children only have me and I only have them. With goals of putting them in a house, they can call their own for years to come. I know with no credit it’s like bad credit. I hear about first time buyer programs, which help families like mine. Truthfully this essay wasn’t easy for me because I knew I wanted topics to be on my struggles and to bring awareness to undercover bullying. With this scholarship I just would like a chance to be able to pay for some of my schooling through scholarships, I haven’t ever won anything so hope I can help myself by doing this and proving to myself I can all things in God with his help.
