When I was young I loved to watch my mom cook in the kitchen no matter what she cooked. I asked questions, got her ingredients, and helped prep ingredients if I was lucky. Whenever I went to my brother's house in Virginia during the summer, he would grill and let me help him by seasoning the food, stirring things up for him, and managing the food on the grill. My family noticed that I was happiest whenever I was in the kitchen cooking and they suggested that I go in the culinary field. I want to go down this path, however; I decided that I need to get a strong base down before I can open uo my own culinary business. I wanted to go to the army as an officer so I can earn enough money to be able to open up and manage a good culinary business, so I could start giving back to the community while having fun. I want to open up a culinary establishment that I could run as a side job while I'm still in the military until I have enough money to keep it running smoothly then I can use the business to support my future family. I want to get a degree for computer science, which I am aware has nothing to do with culinary, but I feel it is the best way to help me get to the position where I can finally focus on my culinary career.
I plan on personally furthering my culinary skills if the college does not offer a culinary course. I love experimenting with my culinary exploits and don't really plan the details whenever I decide to cook. I get a vague idea on what I want to do and then make up the rest as I go. Naturally, this makes my cooking style very spontaneous but that's how I like to cook. I plan on eventually opening up a restaurant or business that I can run after my military career. I want to be able to earn enough money so I can comfortably open up a restaurant/business and not have to worry about becoming bankrupt due to failure. Even if I'm unable to professionally pursue a culinary career I still want to learn and grow as a chef and baker. It feels like my second calling behind the military and it's a fun way for me to release stress and it produces tasty stuff too.
