I am a mother of five beautiful children, and I love to write children's books. I worked in the education field for over twenty years and in the ministry for the same number of years. I would love to go back to school to continue my education and be an example to my children that you can overcome anything.

I rely on my faith daily, but the first time I had to overcome a challenge and rely on my faith in God was when I find out I had a learning disability. I was 20 years old and had struggled with school my entire life not knowing my mother was keeping a secret from me about my learning disability. I went in for a placement test and the college placement attendant asked me if English was my second language because I scored that low. When I stated no, she sent me to the disability department where they tested me and found that I had dyslexia. I remember wanting to not enroll in classes and leaving the department in tears. I called my mom to tell her what was said to me, and she told me I know I was told when you were younger but did not disclose the information to you.
I could not even ask why because at that point it did not matter. I remember praying and asking God why me? God told me it is for a testimony of My grace, understanding, wisdom, and trust. So, the next day I went back to junior college and enrolled in courses. I prayed my entire way through school and asked God for favor, wisdom, and understanding relying on every scripture in the Bible that stated He would give it to me. I needed the confidence and trust to know that God would not leave me or forsake me. I went into each class praying over the teacher, my mouth/words, my knowledge, understanding, and opening up my heart to receive because this learning disability I was born with was a gift of God's grace, favor, love, and guidance and it was going to be a testimony. Not only for me but my children and whoever thought they were not smart enough to attend college. I prayed and prayed every time before I enrolled in classes, taking tests, writing papers, and speaking to my professors and other students I had to do study groups with. I finished each semester with nothing below a 3.6. I finished junior college with honors and three degrees. So, no one can take the credit for what God gave me the wisdom to accomplish and no one can take from me what my God allowed me to do for a testimony of His love and grace for me and others I share my story with. God allowed me to over and anyone can overcome anything with his Grace and Mercy.
