WinnerI have always found joy in helping others. Helping others can come in many different forms including volunteering, training, coaching, or just being available when someone needs assistance. Throughout my time in high school, I have also become very interested in the sciences. Biology and Chemistry have turned into two of my favorite classes that I have ever taken. In the future, it would be my dream to merge the two and become a nurse. It is my thought that becoming a nurse I can not only continue finding joy in helping others, but I can also take what I’ve learned and enjoyed about the sciences. I was recently accepted to Texas A&M University in College Station where I plan to spend the next 4 years chasing my dreams. With all of the rich traditions at TAMU, I feel like it is an ideal place to call home.
Becoming a nurse would be a huge achievement in my life. When I attain this goal, I would be the only person in my family to become a professional in the medical field. My parents have always worked very hard, and they taught me the value of hard work. Through their hard work they have always worked to provide everything that I've ever needed. I feel as though it is my turn to give back to them, but I can’t start that process until I complete my next level of education. It would be a true blessing for me to receive this scholarship as it would be my pathway to start my educational process, thus being able to give back.
