Learner Math Lover Scholarship
Math is a subject unlike any other from its learning process to the different kinds of symbols and terminology. There are 5 major areas of understanding math the first is representation which are algebraic structures that represent elements as linear transformations. The second is reasoning and proof which is a representation and a continuation of logical reasoning. The third is communication as a way of sharing ideas and understandings. The fourth is problem-solving which allows people to develop an understanding of the process to get to the solution. The fifth is connections like the relationship between different processes of math and how they are connected.
Symbols in math allow mathematicians to show complicated concepts in smaller and easier-to-understand forms to work with. The equal sign in the 16th century Robert Recorde was writing a book to teach algebra he got tired of writing "is equal to" so frequently that he made the equal sign. The two parallel horizontal lines were the most equal thing he could think of. The plus sign for addition came from the Latin word et meaning "and." terminology like median from the Latin word medianus which means middle which was introduced in the early 15th century. The word graph from the Latin word graphicus with the word meaning writing or drawing the word graph was first used in this sense by J.J. Sylvester in 1878. These are all reasons why I love math the symbols and terminology can be confusing at times but in the end, the equations and solutions are beautiful.
Aircraft Mechanics for Aircraft Mechanics Scholarship
I want to pursue an education in aircraft maintenance because I would like to help people with personal air crafts that do not possess the ability to fix their own planes. I enjoy doing lots of hands-on work and learning. pursuing this line of education can help me grow into other fields of work such as being a pilot or assisting airlines too. I would enjoy the opportunities of working in multiple sectors of aviation maintenance. I want to enter this line of work because I enjoy fast pace jobs and I work best in high-pressure environments. having the opportunities to continually learn and develop skills is my goal for a career.
My grandma's husband has always built model airplanes and helicopters. I grew up watching him build up to 3-foot remote-control airplanes in his shop. it was my childhood it always put me at peace watching and helping him build those airplanes. I only ever got to help because my parents never had the money to buy expensive stuff like model air crafts. I have always wanted to build airplanes whether it be for a company or freelance. I enjoy the physics of how air crafts get off the ground and fly. I like the experience of building engines as for me I think engines are like art in how they fit together. I like how every part of a motor relays on every other part to make it run smoothly. motorized vehicles such as airplanes are put together like pieces of art. everything has its place and when all the right parts are put in all the right places the motor can operate.
I would love to pursue an education in aircraft maintenance so I and my future family can have a place to live and a steady income unlike what I had growing up. when living in the state of Alaska I could help people that need groceries or household items that need to be flown in by fixing or checking the cargo planes. I think I could benefit from being in a steady work environment with coworkers that have had similar training and experience as me. I would love the opportunity to pursue this career path and to do something that no one in my family has ever accomplished. It would make me and my family very proud for me to be the first one in this field.
