Bio

Famous author Maya Angelous once said, "If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude". I was raised by a single mother and this value was instilled in me from a young age. She taught me that any dream or idea I had could never be too difficult, and that as long as I tried, it was, in itself, an achievement. With consistent losses throughout my extensive family to cancer, heart disease, and autoimmune diseases, I was instilled with an innate desire to help those around me. Beginning with fourth grade science club to becoming president of my high school's National Science Honor Society, I fell in love with the study of life. I hope to use my talents in both Biology and Computer Science to pursue both my Medical Degree and PhD to become a pediatric oncologist. I am driven by the need to reduce the hardship of others, and use the technology of an ever changing world to make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer.
