I grew up in a small rural town in Maine, with a single mother. I worked through high school and college and received my undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Substance Abuse Counseling. I am a first-generation college student. I have worked as a special educaiton teacher in both elementary and middle school setting for the last 7 years. My plan is to obtain my degree and licensure in school psychology at Eastern Washington University.
I hope to learn more about the way that a person's brain develops and grows, and how new mental pathways and skills are learned. I hope that by furthering my education and becoming licensed as a psychologist I can make important changes in the processes involved in identifying disabilities and taking proactive approaches to developing a child's mental, emotional, and intellectual well being.
