I will be attending The Citadel in the Fall of 2025. I chose the road less traveled because it will mold me into the best leader I can be. I plan to major in political science to help make our world a better place. As a scout, I earned my Eagle Scout in 2023. I serve as an FFA officer and was awarded the State FFA Degree in 2025. I help manage a herd of Polled Herefords on my family farm. Farming teaches many lessons, such as patience, creative thinking, and hard work. I serve our community as a member of our local VFD. In JROTC, I hold the rank of Chief Petty Officer and am active in the Naval Sea Cadet program. I serve on the color guard and rifle team and captain of our leadership and academic competition team. As a drama team member, I have participated in multiple school performances and public speaking contests. I have been the main speaker for many church services and at the 2024 TN Fallen Fire Fighter Service. I play the violin and guitar and have accepted to play in The Citadel's Regimental Band and Pipes starting this fall. My primary sport has always been golf, playing all four years in high school.
The high cost of attending an out-of-state school will be demanding financially. Still, my state does not offer a military-style school that emphasizes the character development of its graduates. The Citadel's values of honor, duty, and respect are not just words. These values are present in the lives of Citadel staff, alumni, and students. Those values are essential, and I want to continue to build on these values to help me succeed in my future endeavors.
