      NYT Connections Fan Scholarship
I can always count on NYT Connections to brighten my morning and start my day off with creativity and critical thinking. My game: Mint, Neapolitan, Vanilla, Cookie Dough - Types of Ice Cream Espresso, Matcha, Mate, Chocolate - Caffeine Sources Pine, Orange, Olive, Coconut - Types of Trees Toucan, Parrot, Macaw, Hornbill - Rainforest birds I chose ice cream flavors first because it is engaging and appeals to many readers. Whether there are kids or adults playing this game, everyone can be interested in ice cream flavors. For the Caffeine sources and Types of Trees categories, I created these because they could be tricky, giving players a chance for critical thinking. For instance, Mate and Matcha deal with nature and leaves, and olive and oranges also have leaves. Therefore, it becomes a fun challenge! Lastly, I added rainforest birds to the game because they also relate to trees, possibly creating some mix-up there as well. I wanted to create a game that wasn't an easy-out. I like to be challenged with Connections and hope others will be by this game as well! I hope this game can go live to help others enjoy starting their day with a fun and unique quiz just like I like to do!

Last summer, I had the opportunity to travel around Spain, a journey that left an indelible mark on my life. From the bustling streets of Madrid to quaint towns, each place offered a unique glimpse into the Spanish way of life. What struck me most was the realization that, despite the differences in customs, traditions, and expressions, people are fundamentally the same no matter where you are in the world. This experience taught me invaluable lessons and profoundly challenged my perspective, inspiring me to be a better person upon returning to the United States. Traveling exposes individuals to so many new customs, traditions, and languages. In various parts of the world, I have encountered vibrant festivals, culinary traditions, and diverse ways of life that showcased the rich cultural heritage of each place. Engaging with locals and participating in traditions has allowed me to appreciate the diversity and complexity of human expression. Seeing how others interact and live on a daily basis has shown me how much more there is to the world than I could ever imaging. Travel also has a way of revealing one's privileges and fostering a sense of gratitude. Observing varying lifestyles and economic conditions across different regions shows the disparities that exist in the world. Whether exploring villages or urban centers, witnessing the simple joys and struggles of everyday life can be humbling. I think that this exposure grounds individuals, making them more aware of the privileges often taken for granted. It instills a sense of responsibility to contribute positively to the community and support those who are less fortunate. Furthermore, travel can be incredibly eye-opening and inspiring. Conversations with fellow travelers and locals challenge preconceived notions and expand worldviews. Hearing their stories and struggles fosters greater empathy and open-mindedness. It encourages thinking outside the box, embracing new ideas, and approaching problems from different angles. This growth mindset is crucial in personal development, motivating individuals to pursue new opportunities with a fresh perspective. Lastly, traveling has a powerful ability to push individuals out of their comfort zones and immerse themselves in unfamiliar environments. It cultivates resilience, adaptability, and a deeper understanding of the world. Each journey, with its unique set of experiences, contributes to a more well-rounded and empathetic individual. For me, traveling is never just a vacation; it is a learning and reflective experience that enriches my life in ways I never anticipated. In conclusion, travel is a transformative experience that fosters personal growth and development. It exposes individuals to new customs, traditions, languages, landscapes, and architecture, inspiring them in countless ways. It highlights one's privileges, grounding and instilling a sense of gratitude. As I look forward to future adventures, I carry with me the lessons learned from my travels, eager to embrace the world and always keep learning.

Sara Chaiton Scholarship for Resilient Women
Losing someone who has been a central pillar in your life is never easy, especially when that person is your grandmother, a strong Jewish woman who was the backbone of your family. My grandmother, or "Nana" as we called her, embodied resilience, joy, positive energy, and an unwavering support system that shaped not only my childhood but also the person I am today. Though I lost her before the age of ten, her influence continues to reverberate through every aspect of my life, guiding me and increasing my resilience, particularly in my educational pursuits. My grandmother was the heart and soul of our family, a woman who facilitated strong relationships and fostered a sense of community that was tangible. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting smells of traditional Jewish cuisine. She taught us the value of togetherness, the importance of supporting one another, and the strength found in our shared heritage. Her enthusiasm for life was contagious and she had a way of making each of us in the family feel special, heard, and loved. The impact of losing her at such a young age was profound. It felt as though the glue that held our family together had suddenly vanished, leaving a void that seemed impossible to fill. However, in the midst of this loss, I found strength and inspiration in her memory. My grandmother had a unique ability to turn challenges into opportunities for growth, and I knew that to honor her, I needed to embody that same resilience. One of the most significant ways my grandmother influenced me was through her unwavering belief in the power of education. She was a firm advocate for learning, always encouraging me to pursue knowledge and embrace curiosity. Her stories about overcoming obstacles within her career of sales and her emphasis on the importance of perseverance have stayed with me. Even now, when faced with academic challenges, I draw on her strength and determination. My resilience in continuing with my education can be attributed to several factors, all of which are deeply rooted in the lessons my grandmother imparted. First, the sense of community she fostered has provided me with a strong support network. My family, inspired by her legacy, continues to uphold the values she instilled in us. They are my cheerleaders and my source of unwavering encouragement. Additionally, the positive energy and enthusiasm she exuded have become a part of my approach to life. I strive to find joy in the learning process, to remain optimistic in the face of adversity, and to approach challenges with a can-do attitude. Her belief in my potential has fueled my determination to succeed academically, pushing me to set high goals and work diligently towards achieving them. Lastly, my grandmother’s life taught me the importance of resilience. She faced numerous hardships with grace, especially while being a Jewish woman working in sales, never allowing setbacks to define her. Whenever I encounter difficulties, whether in my personal life or my studies, I remind myself of her strength and resolve to push through, knowing that she would want me to persevere. In conclusion, losing my grandmother was a transformative experience that shaped my character and my approach to life. Her legacy of joy, support, community, and resilience continues to influence me, providing the foundation upon which I build my academic and personal achievements. The values she imparted, coupled with the support of my family and my intrinsic motivation to honor her memory, have contributed significantly to my resilience in continuing with my education.

      Janice Louise Olach Scholarship
The biggest challenge I have had to overcome in pursuing my BBA degree has been the struggle of balancing life as a student-athlete on the gymnastics team, dealing with a severe knee injury that required surgery, and then facing the emotional and financial setback of losing my athletic scholarship due to the injury. Being a student-athlete demands an extraordinary level of commitment, time management, and resilience. My days were meticulously scheduled, starting early in the morning with training sessions, followed by a full day of classes, and then back to the gym for more practice in the evening. Balancing the demands of my sport with the academic rigors of my BBA degree is no easy feat, but I have thrived on the challenge. The discipline I have developed as an athlete translated into my academic life, where I consistently maintained a 4.0 and actively participated. However, during my sophomore year I suffered an injury which requires over a year of recovery and rehabilitation. The surgery itself and rehab has been physically demanding, but the emotional toll of missing out on practices, competitions, and classes was even greater. Just as I was beginning to see progress in my recovery, I faced another devastating blow. My coach informed me that my athletic scholarship was being revoked due to my inability to compete at the same level as prior to injury. This news shattered me. The scholarship had been a lifeline, enabling me to pursue my education without the heavy burden of financial stress. Losing it meant I had to reassess my entire academic and career trajectory. Despite the immense disappointment, I refused to give up. I explored every possible avenue to secure alternative funding, including applying for academic scholarships and taking on internships. This period of adversity taught me resilience and adaptability. My passion for marketing and my determination to succeed academically became my driving forces. In the end, overcoming these challenges has made me stronger and more focused. I have learned to manage my time effectively, prioritize my responsibilities, and maintain a positive outlook even in the face of adversity. These experiences have shaped me into a more resilient and determined individual, qualities that will serve me well in my future career in business. The journey has been difficult, but it has also been incredibly rewarding, reinforcing my commitment to achieving my dreams despite any obstacles that may come my way.

      Neal Hartl Memorial Sales/Marketing Scholarship
When I was younger, my sister and I would voluntarily spend our summer free time creating innovative products out of craft supplies and trying to sell them to each other. Our makeshift marketplace became a playground of creativity and competition, where we’d practice our persuasive pitches and playful tactics to win each other over. Little did I know that these childhood games would lay the foundation for my passion for sales and marketing. Fourteen years later, I find myself captivated by every ad I see on billboards, social media, or in print. The allure of advertisements goes beyond their visual appeal; it's the art of storytelling and the psychological nuance behind them that fascinates me. Each advertisement is a crafted message designed to evoke emotions, solve problems, and ultimately drive consumer behavior. This blend of creativity and strategy has become my professional calling. Also, my interest in marketing is deeply intertwined with a curiosity about consumer behavior and psychology. Why do people gravitate toward certain products and advertisements? What subconscious triggers influence their purchasing decisions? Studying these patterns is like deciphering a complex code of human behavior. Understanding the “why” behind our interests and choices is crucial for creating compelling marketing strategies. It allows marketers to tap into the deeper motivations of their audience, ensuring that the message not only reaches but resonates with them on a personal level. Moreover, I am driven by the potential to make a positive impact through marketing. The field is often perceived as solely profit-driven, but I believe it can be a powerful force for good. By incorporating diverse perspectives and authentic stories, marketing can break through traditional boundaries and connect with audiences on a more meaningful level. It’s about representing unique voices and experiences, making everyone feel seen and valued. Through inclusive marketing, we can raise awareness about important issues, foster social change, inspire and educate others, and promote products and services that genuinely improve people's lives. In essence, my journey from childhood summer games to a career in marketing is fueled by a blend of creativity, curiosity, and a desire to make a difference. Every advertisement I encounter is a reminder of the power of a well-told story and the impact it can have. Through marketing, I aim to bridge the gap between consumer interests and meaningful engagement, using insights from consumer behavior and psychology to craft campaigns that connect with audiences. Ultimately, I hope to contribute to a world where marketing is not just about selling, but about understanding, representing, and enriching the lives of people across the globe.
