As someone in the foster care system, my only dream in life is to make a positive impact on someone's life. I have seen people struggle (including my own parents) with their health and keeping themselves on track. I have always wanted to be a medical doctor for as long as I can remember. When I was younger, I would play doctor with my grandma and she would call me Dr. Lily. I would take her temperature, pretend to listen to her heart, and give her an all around exam. When she died, I promised that I would become a doctor, no matter what it took. I plan on helping the community understand addiction better from a doctor standpoint, help people understand the need for Narcan distribution to the public, and care for those around me. Human health and Biology has always been an interest to me and I plan to pursue that. Although I am from a disadvantaged home and I did grow up in the system, I won't be discouraged. I plan to show people younger and older than me that you can become something, no matter who your parents were.

I have been to many different schools in two different states. I am also a senior, meaning I have started school twelve different times in six different locations. My best back to school tip is be yourself. Whether you are going back to the same kids or with new ones, you have all changed over the summer! Show them who you are and what you have to offer. Do not be afraid to be unapologetically you. I love to show what I can do and what interests I have. I have met all of my closest friends from showing my hobbies such as: reading, writing, and drawing. Being yourself means you have friends who are just like you. Show your true colors. @acryiicpaints
