I want to become a kindergarten teacher because I believe in the power of education to change lives, just as it has the potential to break the cycle of financial hardship in my family. Growing up, I witnessed my parents' struggles to provide for us, especially with their limited education. Their hard work and sacrifices have inspired me to pursue higher education and to become an educator who can help children grow and succeed. As a teacher, I will work hard to create a classroom where every child feels safe, supported, and excited to learn. I want to be the teacher who recognizes the unique needs of each student and helps them build the skills and confidence they need for success in school and beyond. Whether it's helping a child with learning difficulties or encouraging a shy student to speak up, I want every child to feel like they belong and can succeed. My goal is to create a positive and supportive environment where children can develop important skills for their future. I want to help children learn how to think critically, solve problems, and work together as a team. I hope to inspire a love for learning that will stay with them throughout their lives. The lessons they learn in kindergarten can set the foundation for their future success in school, their careers, and as individuals in their communities. Another goal is to also build a strong relationship with the families of my students. As someone who understands the importance of family support, I want to communicate with parents and help them understand how they can support their children's education. I know that many parents, especially those who work long hours or face financial struggles, might find it hard to be involved in their child's schooling. I want to be there for them, providing guidance and offering ways they can make a difference in their child's education. Becoming a teacher is not just about helping children succeed in the classroom, it’s about making a lasting impact on their lives. I want to be the kind of teacher who makes a difference, one that helps children feel capable and excited about their future. I want my students to leave kindergarten not just knowing their ABCs, but also knowing that they are important, capable, and ready to keep learning. By providing this support, I hope to inspire them to dream big and never give up on their goals. I also want to make sure that education is accessible to all, regardless of a child's background. I know firsthand how difficult it can be when financial barriers or lack of resources make it hard for students to reach their full potential. That’s why I’m passionate about advocating for equal opportunities for all children, regardless of their background. I want to be a teacher who is always there to support and encourage my students, making sure they have every chance to succeed, no matter their circumstances.

My major will be Liberal Studies, and I want to become a kindergarten teacher because I’m passionate about helping young children learn and grow. Growing up in a low-income household, I’ve witnessed firsthand the sacrifices my parents made to provide me with opportunities they never had, and I am determined to honor their efforts by achieving my educational aspirations. Education has always been a valuable tool in our family, as it represents a way to break the cycle of financial hardship and create a brighter future. Throughout high school, I faced personal challenges that affected my confidence and motivation. Struggling with self-image and body issues, as well as lacking academic support at home, made it difficult to stay focused on my schoolwork. My parents couldn’t provide academic support due to their own limited education, and my siblings were either busy or facing their own challenges. This made asking for help difficult, and my grades initially suffered. However, over time, I learned the importance of seeking assistance and began working with tutors and teachers. This experience taught me resilience, perseverance, and the value of seeking help when needed. I realized that asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness, but a necessary step toward growth and success. In addition, balancing my family’s financial struggles has pushed me to work even harder toward my goal of higher education. My dad, the sole provider for our family, manages everything on one income, and with my sister in college, the financial strain is even greater. I don’t want to add to this burden, which is why a scholarship would relieve much of the financial pressure by covering key expenses like tuition and textbooks, allowing me to focus entirely on my education. Knowing how much my family sacrifices for me, I want to make the most of this opportunity and ensure that my efforts lead to something meaningful, not only for me but for my family’s future. These challenges have shaped who I am today and have given me a strong sense of responsibility. I am driven by the desire to not only better my own future but also to help relieve the financial strain on my family. With the help of a scholarship, I will be able to dedicate myself fully to my studies and pursue my dream of becoming an educator, providing young children with the same support and guidance I wish I had received. I am passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young children, as I know how impactful a strong educational foundation can be for future success. Through overcoming adversity, I’ve become more determined and ready to make a positive impact in my community. I am committed to using my experiences to inspire and uplift others, especially those who, like me, come from backgrounds where access to resources can be limited. With the right support, I am confident I can achieve my goals and create a better future for myself and the generations to come.

Growing up in a low-income family, I saw the sacrifices my parents made to give my siblings and me a better life. My dad moved to the U.S. from Mexico at 13 but had to leave school early to support his family. His struggles with language and lack of resources made education difficult, and he couldn’t pursue higher education. My parents came to the U.S. to give us opportunities they never had, and their sacrifices have taught me that education is the key to breaking the cycle of financial hardship. My dad is the sole provider for our family, and managing household expenses on a single income is incredibly challenging. I’ve seen my parents work tirelessly to support us, including helping my brother, who finished community college, and my sister, who is currently in college. With the costs of education adding extra strain, I feel responsible for not burdening my family further. This financial stress has made me more determined to pursue higher education and contribute to my family’s future. A scholarship would ease this pressure by covering expenses like tuition, books, and fees, allowing me to focus on my studies instead of worrying about costs. It would give me the freedom to fully dedicate myself to my education without adding more strain on my parents. Without this help, I would likely need to take on multiple jobs, which could distract me from my academic goals. My determination to succeed is for both me and my family. I want to achieve my educational aspirations while easing the financial burden on my parents. Growing up in a low-income household has taught me the value of education. My father’s sacrifices have shown me that education is key to breaking the cycle of financial hardship and creating a better future. In high school, I faced personal challenges that affected my motivation and confidence. I struggled with math and other subjects because I lacked academic support at home due to my parents' limited education. I found it hard to ask for help, and my grades suffered. Over time, I learned to seek help from tutors and teachers, which taught me resilience and perseverance. Though my grades don’t always reflect my potential, I’ve overcome these challenges and gained a clearer focus for my future. I’ve also been involved in extracurricular activities that helped me build important skills. As a member of Link Crew, I helped freshmen adjust to high school through communication and teamwork. I’ve been part of the AP Spanish Club since my freshman year, where I organize events and raise money for scholarships. As club secretary this year, I’ve taken on a leadership role. My participation in cross-country and track and field has taught me discipline, perseverance, and teamwork, all of which I’ll apply to my academic and career goals. My ultimate goal is to major in Liberal Studies and become a kindergarten teacher. The nurturing guidance I received during my early education has inspired me to provide that same support to young learners. I want to create a positive and supportive environment where children can develop a strong foundation for their future success. Attending college is more than just a personal goal for me, it’s about easing the financial burden on my family, honoring my parents' sacrifices, and proving that success is possible, regardless of where you come from. A scholarship would not only make it possible for me to attend college, but it would also allow me to focus fully on my studies and career without constantly worrying about how to pay for everything.
