FinalistBio
Hello! I’m Lilia, a first-generation Hmong-American woman passionate about breaking barriers and creating change. My parents immigrated to the US, where I grew up in a small Minnesota suburb. Because of my parents, I learned resilience and the value of hard work. My journey to higher education began as a PSEO student and led me to North Hennepin Community College, where I earned my associate's degree before transferring to the University of Minnesota to pursue Biomedical Engineering.
What drives me to do my best and pursue Biomedical Engineering is a desire to use science and technology to solve pressing healthcare challenges and improve lives worldwide. Outside of academics, I find joy in raising chickens, drawing, and reading. My family’s unwavering support motivates me every day to work toward a brighter future—one where I can give back to them and honor their sacrifices.
Thank you for visiting my profile and for considering me for this opportunity!
