Dear Scholarship Committees, Hello! My name is Elizabeth Salazar, and I am a college freshman studying at Heritage University. I am majoring in Social Work. My ultimate goal is to become a Mental Health Therapist and assist individuals who desire to seek psychological assistance. This passion originates from firsthand witnessing the harmful effects of unaddressed mental health difficulties and drug addiciton within my family growing up. Additionally, another factor that has influenced my career choice is having personally experienced significant mental health struggles myself. Unfortunately, I experience financial difficulties, particularly regarding my college expenses, as nobody has legal custody of me. I have gone through my FASFA process via McKinney Vento.
