n honoring Black History Month, I find profound inspiration in reflecting on the impactful legacy of a remarkable Black leader who has not only shaped my life but also set an example of selflessness, compassion, and dedication to community upliftment: my father. While his name may not be celebrated in history books, his contributions to our community and his unwavering commitment to serving others have left an enduring imprint on my heart and mind.
My father's journey was one defined by service and compassion. As a dedicated advocate for the homeless, he worked tirelessly to support individuals facing adversity and to provide them with the resources and support needed to rebuild their lives. His work was not just a job but a calling—a testament to his innate desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
From a young age, I witnessed my father's tireless efforts to support those experiencing homelessness. Giving back to my community has always been a fundamental aspect of my personal and professional life. Currently, I engage in various activities that allow me to contribute positively to my community and inspire others. As a computer science major at Florida International University (FIU), I leverage my skills and knowledge to make a tangible impact through volunteer work, mentorship, and nonprofit initiatives.
One of the primary ways I give back is through my nonprofit organization, E3: Engineering Empowerment Education. E3 is dedicated to promoting STEM education in predominantly Black schools in South Florida.
