Bio

I find family very important to me. I have had a job since the first covid outbreak, and have helped my parents with some of the bills as well as groceries. My future plans for college are that I want to go into nursing because of my Grandmothers. My Grandma Petersen was my best friend. She passed away 3 years ago and I want to be able to help people like my Grandma helped me. No matter what the problem was she always had a helpful bit of advice. She passed away because of COPD. My parents used to smoke so it concerns me that there might be a chance that they end up with COPD also. My Grandma Weber suffers from the effects of MS and I want to be able to understand more about what she is going through. I am also looking for a Christian College where I can further my belief. I want to win these scholarships so that I don't have to pay for college and I can start a scholarship for kids like me when I am older. I also want to travel and be a risk-taker in life because I only live once and I can help all the people in need.

I have had some difficult times with depression and trying to find myself. My Grandma helped me find myself. She was always supportive of my dreams and goals. My Grandma passed away in 2018 because of complications from COPD. She was my best friend and my world. My Grandma was my everything. She always told me I could do anything that I set my mind to and was always in my corner no matter what the problem. We would talk about what colleges I would go to. We talked about me becoming a traveling nurse and traveling across the country. I told her that I would have her visit me to go sightseeing. My Grandma was the light that showed me that I could do it and is a significant influence on why I want to become a nurse. Gaining in life with two blue collared parents is hard. Many might say that, but it is challenging to have a comfortable life in rural America. I garnered a job during the first coronavirus outbreak. I knew that I needed a car so I had to make money to buy it myself. I am so grateful for what I have and am working hard to go to college. I am from a family of three kids. Money has not come easy for my family, but I am headed in the right direction with determination and grit. I plan to be college-bound. My town is small and in a rural area. I want to give back when I graduate so that kids will see that you can make a name for yourself and make a difference in my community even though you are from rural America. I want to help other people and be their shining light, as she was mine.

When I was little, my mom would take me to Wal-Mart. I thought it was a great thing to go to the store with my mom. I was always excited and jumping for joy to go, but some people have different lives than what I have had. I have worked at Wal-Mart for the last two years and I have seen and met people from all over the world that were generous. But, nothing will ever compare to a sister that did not have to be there for you. My family has been host parents ever since I can remember. Hosting a college student is making sure the kids are not as homesick. We have had basketball kids to band kids. I have thought of all of them as a family because we were their second family. One of the kids that we hosted was from Colorado and after she moved to college her parents moved to North Dakota. She was in college to be a music teacher. She stood up for me and took me to get our nails done and we were sisters. She was my big sister and I was her little sister. She was the only child, so she never had a sibling to share her likes and dislikes with. She didn't have to be there but she chose to and it made everything to me. She inspires me to be a big sister to all kids that need it. She has always been generous to me, so I am trying to do the same thing to other kids that had the same problem as me. I help them with their problems and talk them through how to look at the situation in a different way, so they can help others.

Losing my best friend, my Grandma, was the hardest thing I have ever had to face in life, but now I fight through the walls of grief and live my life to the fullest extent. I was confirmed on January 16th, 2022. The way to finding my faith was hard after my Grandma passed away, but once I did I feel that my faith is very important to who I am. I have been able to find a wonderful balance in my faith. I now understand that it can guide me and calm my heart. I feel that this is important to my future. My heart has opened so much with my faith and I believe that I can use this to help others in the future. I have had some difficult times with depression and trying to find myself. After my college visits, I have become very aware of the cost of that college diploma. My parents are not well off, but they always ensured that we had the bare necessities, and most importantly, they always made sure that my siblings and I were loved. Many families may not afford college, and I would love to help.

    Learner.com Algebra Scholarship
One thing that I have learned through my last few years is that math is everything and everywhere. You and I both will need it for the rest of our lives. Either cooking or our everyday jobs. I feel as if people have forgotten that math is everything. Math is needed for the necessities in life, like paying the water bill, making a budget, having crops in our fields, and looking for a new job. If we did not have math in life we would not have houses, jobs, money, or even food. Math has been with humankind since 640-546 B.C. Math is something that has evolved over the years. From symbols to numbers and then to numbers, symbols, and letters all in the same equation. We started by adding then to having trigonometry, calculus, and other kinds of difficult math. I have noticed that some of the math that we used for the crop harvest has become less than it was fifty years ago. The math has become different. Want to know how I know the math problem has become different because the number of farmers has been decreased and now the answer has been decreased because the equation has been changed. Change is good but when it comes to changing the formula for survival you change the different life is ever going to be for everyone. I love learning math because there is always something you can do with it. I know people do not understand how math is used in everything from harvesting food to working at NASA. One of my teachers always said, "If you can find something that does not involve math I will pass you with an A+." Nobody has yet to answer the question with the right answer. I have tried several times to answer his question, but I have now found that there is no answer. With math evolving that means that people will have to evolve with it as they have over the years. I love the way math has been challenging and not ever boring. I love the challenge and the different ways to solve the equation. I love solving the equation in different ways and finding the same answer to the equation. When I become a nurse with all the math skills I have achieved and accomplished while in high school, I will be able to help all in need.

Having friends that are different in culture, mind, and spirit; it is easy to forget about the "differences" and live life to the fullest and love living it. I feel as if people have forgotten, yes people were made differently, but people should not be treated differently. People should forget there is a difference and they will realize that love, care, and support is all around them; even if they don't truly see it. I try to understand all the different things with culture, race, and gender. I am going to become a nurse that people of different races and genders can come to so they do not feel as if all people are bad. I know that some people have felt as if they could not go to the hospital because of what they believe in or what their gender is because others that have been treated badly were the same way.

Have you ever been abused or even neglected? Well, this girl was neglected for fifteen years. Joy lived in a little house with her mother. Her mother was an alcoholic and a drug addict. She had a lot of parties at the house even when the girl was home. Joy was abused by her mother and the people who came over to the house. Joy never went to school until the mailman saw her and called Child Protective Services for Joy one day. Joy lived happily with her aunt and uncle until she was done with school and was happy and healthy again. Joy will always be my inspiration to keep moving in life even if it becomes hard. Bold Listening Scholarship
The definition of listening is to give one's attention to a sound. But, listening is different for everyone. Some people listening are arguing, and others are just staying quiet and not saying anything. I have always had a hard time talking to many people, but I have always listened. My grandma was always the person I was when I had a problem, but I have been going to my mom for advice and wisdom since she passed. When one of my classmates lost their brother, I was there to listen and be the shoulder for her to cry on. I had always loved helping and listening to people, even when it was something I could not always help. I asked my friends what they thought of me, and they said that I was a great listener and a great person to rant to. Listening to people is like swimming in the ocean; it's hard to get the hang of at first, but you will get it after a while.

I have never been the kid who asked their parents for a lot. I want to give back to it when I graduate so that kids will see that you can make a name for yourself and make a difference in my community even though you are from rural America. When I was a freshman in high school, my agriculture teacher had the class practice range judging. The class competed, and four out of the twenty kids could go to state, and I was one of them. I made it to state two years in a row, but since the covid hit, there was no contest. While I am out of school, I am a very busy person. I have done Community service. I have helped clean up the back roads and the park for 7 hours a day in the summers, some weekends. I work at Walmart. I am also trying to accomplish confirmation in my church. I have worked hard the last two years to get myself confirmed, and I finally achieved my goal with work and determination. I was confirmed on January 16th, 2022. I have had some difficult times with depression and trying to find myself. My Grandma helped me find myself. She was always supportive of my dreams and goals. My Grandma passed away in 2018 because of complications from COPD. She was my best friend and my world. Even though I love my family very dearly, my Grandma was my everything. She always told me I could do anything that I set my mind to and was always in my corner no matter what the problem. she was always proud of me because I chose to be drug and alcohol free. We would talk about what colleges I would go to. We talked about me becoming a traveling nurse and traveling across the country. My Grandma was the light that showed me that I could do it and is a significant influence on why I want to become a nurse. I want to help other people and be their shining light, as she was mine. After I graduate with my BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing), I hope to start a scholarship to help students with college. There are so many things that need to be covered during college. After my college visits, I have become very aware of the cost of that college diploma. My parents are not well off, but they always ensured that we had the bare necessities, and most importantly, they always made sure that my siblings and I were loved.

Since I was in middle school, my dream has been to be a nurse and help people. I have always loved going to different events and helping with anything and everything. I have also volunteered my time for a clean-up service in my hometown. I love the nursing field because I can talk to my patients, see what they need help with, and see if I can fix it. I have never wanted to become a doctor because I knew that they were not the ones that talked to the patients or even went into their rooms every day. I have loved this career since I was little because I knew I could travel, meet new cultures, people, and learn from the people I met along the way. I have wanted to mention traveling because my grandmother and I would talk about her and me traveling around the world and seeing new things and meeting new people, and maybe even finding someone that I could marry and have a family with. I know I want to either foster or adapt children.

I would have to say the one piece of technology that has inspired me the most is the internet. Not for the social media, but for the way that we can connect with so many so far away. I here stories from my parents about how the internet was not a thing when they were in school. After hearing how they had to look for scholarships the internet have made it so much faster. The internet has also become overwhelming helpful during the pandemic because it offered a way to continue with our classes so that we did not fall behind. We participated in classed offered on a special platform as well as Zoom. It really is amazing that we can sit in our own home and talk to someone all the way around the world. I can see that I would have learned so much more with this kind of learning if I had the chance. I would love to have the ability to pass this learning on to others. I can see that this learning process would help so many people that are hands on learners. It would be so much more effective to be able to see how it would work and why. I have a hard time with the current teaching methods of most teachers as they not accustomed to the STEM method. I hope that some day I will be able to help others with a STEM Scholarship as well as taking more of the STEM methods in to nursing programs as well as other medical programs.

“Then God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” Genesis 1:3. There will always be light in the world, and I want to be the light for people, and I want to become a nurse to help people. We would talk about what colleges I would go to. We talked about me becoming a traveling nurse and traveling across the country. I told her that I would have her visit me to go sightseeing. My Grandma was the light that showed me that I could do it and is a significant influence on why I want to become a nurse. I want to help other people and be their shining light, as she was mine. After I graduate with my BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing), I hope to start a scholarship to help students with college. There are so many things that need to be covered during college. After my college visits, I have become very aware of the cost of that college diploma. My parents are not well off, but they always ensured that we had the bare necessities, and most importantly, they always made sure that my siblings and I were loved us. Many families may not afford college, and I would love to help.

    Bold Friendship Matters Scholarship
Friendship means everything to me because if I didn't have friends, then I probably wouldn't be here today. When I was in middle school, I didn't have a lot of friends. When I was getting ready to go to high school, I had just got done with my eighth-grade year, my grandma passed away. I didn't know how to deal with the hole she left me in. I went into a depressive state and I could not get myself out of it. She and I talked about literally everything. We talked about my future and what I wanted to do. She was my best friend, and then she decided that it was her time to go. So, when I got to high school all my friends were either gone or they weren't trying to be my friends anymore. I was by myself and I didn't know what else to do with my life. I still wasn't myself. So, when I was thinking about not living anymore; my old friends started to realize that I wasn't doing so well and we started hanging out all the time. You could say that my friends saved my life, but I say my friendships have saved my world.

As I read the details of why you started this scholarship and all I could do was cry. My Grandma passed away in 2018 because of complications from COPD. She was my best friend and my world. Even though I love my family very dearly, my Grandma was my everything. She always told me that I could do anything that I set my mind to and always was in my corner no matter the problem. Grandma and I would spend hours talking about me becoming a nurse someday and maybe even a traveling nurse. We would talk about what colleges I would go to. Grandma loved to travel so we would pick out fun places that she and I wanted to travel to. I told her that I would have her come visit me so that we could go sightseeing. My Grandma was the light that showed me that I could do it. After my Grandma passed I fell into a dark depression. Without her here to cheer me on I felt I was all alone. It just was not the same, my heart was broken and my dreams were shattered. My mom and dad took my sister and I to church and started us in confirmation. As we attended classes and church I began to see that I could still reach my dreams with my Grandma's help. I have found her spirit within me and am ready to take the next step. In my spiritual life as well as my worldly life. We will be confirmed on January 16th, 2022. I am so happy that my heart has found the love and joy that I thought I had lost when my Grandma passed. With my new found faith in myself and my future I know that I can become a nurse and make my Grandma proud of me. I know that Grandma will always be with me in everything I do. Even though Grandma is not here, maybe my parents would be willing to fill in for her on the sightseeing adventures that we had planned. Because of my Grandma I want to help people like she helped me. I want to be that light for others when they are sick and/or hurt. After I graduate with my BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing) I would love to try to start a scholarship that will help students with college. There are so many things that need to be covered during college. After my college visits I have become very aware of the high costs for that college diploma. My parents are not well off but they always made sure that we had the basic necessities, clothes, food, shelter and most importantly they always made sure that we were loved. There are a lot of families that may not be able to afford college and I would love to be able to help. Knowing that someday I might be able to help people in many ways makes my heart so full of joy.
