Teaching Like Teri Scholarship
I plan on becoming an early education teacher who is a role model for her students and has a passion for educating youngsters from all around the world.
I strive to become a teacher who is a role model for her students. Anyone can teach a kid simple math skills, but to be a profoundly good teacher one must have the ability to connect with their students. Of course, school is there to educate young minds on math, reading, and writing but school is so much more than this. To some, school may be an escape from their home. As dark as it may seem, home is not always a positive place for children. If I could be that positive spot to a child living in a dark world, I know my job has a purpose. As a teacher of younger children, kindergarten through third grade, I can shape children into respectful, kind, and determined individuals. Some say that these youngsters are too young for my presents to impact them, but I know this is not true. When I was in kindergarten, I got my first pair of glasses. I was so scared to wear them as I thought my classmates would laugh at me. If it were not for the kindness of my teacher, Ms. Zelenski, I never would have gotten over this fear. As simple as it seems, her kindness is with me forever. I hope that one day my kindness will impact the lives of children as Ms. Zelenski's kindness impacted mine in a positive light. To be this teacher I thrive to become, I will teach abroad.
I share a passion for helping, what better way to help than to spread my knowledge. I believe that the more cultures I have the chance to experience, the more of a well-rounded individual I will become. I truly do not know the daily life of those living around the globe; therefore, I would love to learn about these individuals lives. I plan to volunteer my time teaching English to young children around the world as well as teaching in underdeveloped countries. Through programs such as International Volunteer Program, Global Work & Travel, and United Hands Relief, I can use my education to educate others. I was fortunate enough to be born in a country where education is offered, and where I could seek higher education, some may not be so lucky. I believe all youngsters have to the right to education, if I can offer that to anyone, I will do so.
I hope to become a teacher whom my future students admire as well as offering education to those who may live in areas where education is not provided.
