    "Your Success" Youssef Scholarship
I've said that I want to pursue a bachelor degree in accounting and finance, but whether or not that is the degree I will end up with, who knows? Plenty of people change their major. Plenty of people don't pick a major at all until they are forced to do so. However, I don't want to go into college with an undecided major because for some reason that makes me feel extremely anxious, but I've only picked out accounting as a starting point just because I like math. I am currently participating in Varsity Girls' Soccer, in which I am a starting captain. I continue to participate in Fine Arts, which through my school includes painting competitions, choric speaking competitions, and narrations in the patriotic concert this spring. Also, I am the 2020-21 Student Body President and Senior Class President, both of which entail meetings to organize and execute efforts to boost school spirit and morale. I am currently most passionate about environmental stability. I became aware of the insane amounts of waste and build-up all around the world because of a project that I was assigned in English. The assignment was to watch a documentary and then write a synthesized essay based on the subject of that documentary. Personally, I chose the documentary entitled, "Just Eat It: A Food Waste Story," and was completely shocked by the details of food waste in the United States. Ever since that English project, I have become conscious of the amount of waste that I produce as an individual and taken measures to cut out that waste from my daily routine. For example, instead of using plastic bags to package snacks I now use reusable containers, eliminating that area of waste almost completely. Honestly, if I knew how to translate that into a realistic career, I would love to make environmental stability my future job.
