My journey throughout college during a global pandemic is similar to many others who are just trying to make it through life. During and after a global pandemic me along with others face lack of motivation and wanting to do more all at the same time. The specific challenges that I have faced have been Covid related such as online learning. Online learning is something that is not very effective to me. I love learning and retaining information thoroughly, especially learning the materials I am studying in my 3rd year. Because of the lack of interaction and communication with the professor about materials I struggled with thoroughly learning the material and keeping up with assignments. But to overcome this I moved back to school to continue my education instead of online learning. With my passion for learning I continue to live at school and finish my degree. I am a 3rd year at Bowling Green State University pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science specifically sustainability.
Some of the ideas that I want to pursue is opening up a sustainable clothing store. One of the sustainable clothing stores that I get a lot of inspiration from is Uptown Cheapskate. Uptown Cheapskate gives me inspiration for my future store because of how trendy and modern all the clothes, shoes, purses, and jewelry are. This store has a niche for more girly products but they also have men's clothes, shoes, and accessories. This aspect of their store makes it easier for girls and men in their teens and early to late 20s who love trendy clothes on sale to recycle and buy clothes. with many in their teens into early and late 20s recycling and buying used clothes reduces some of the co2 levels in the atmosphere. Sustainable clothing stores reduce our carbon footprint in such a big way when comes to manufacturing and logistics such as factories and the chemicals released from the clothes after they have been thrown away by the owners.
Other plans I had that doesn't require an education that I am currently pursuing is collaborating with sustainable businesses. The company that I have collaborated with is Piper Wai. Piper wai produces sustainable products such as deodorant, body wash, and soap. finally, I would love to be a sustainability manager for a big company or sustainable tourism. These career paths are for people like me who want to find ways for companies and tourists to find more eco-friendly ways to travel. When it comes to big companies I would assist with ways to produce products more sustainably. Making a difference in our ecological footprints at home and in our everyday lives has been something I am beyond passionate about and will implement in my life. I am determined and passionate about achieving my goals and hope that you guys can see that as well. Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me.

Hello, my name is Kylah Guice and I am a current junior attending Bowling Green State University. Going into college I had a passion for the environment, sustainability, conservation, and ways to make the world a better place. But coming into college I also had a passion for business specifically marketing. unfortunately, I was not able to pursue marketing at Bowling Green State University because of my grades and different requirements I had not met. As you can tell now environmental sciences and sustainability are my main focus. This is because of all the different changes around the world from the time I graduated high school to now and in the future. Certain changes are higher levels of Co2 in the atmosphere caused by human activities such as co2 emissions from factories etc. being put into the atmosphere.
In high school, I saw many people around me who wanted to make a difference. But, didn't know where to start or did not want to make the proper adjustments to make the change needed to sustain ourselves. I wanted to be the change in the world and take the initiative to make a difference in my own home and push others to do so. Since I graduated high school I have had a passion for sustainable energy sources such as solar panels, and wind turbines. Not only these methods but sustainable homes and how to decrease our individual ecological and carbon footprints. This passion has brought up tons of ideas I have in the future which lead to my decision in pursuing environmental studies in sustainability.
