Krisna here,
I’m going to jump right in and tell you about my undocumented experience. My entire childhood has been shaped by the effects of failed public policy in Mexico and the United States. I crossed the U.S. border with my family to secure a future, but it disappointed us to learn that immigration laws were vehemently against the legalization of undocumented people.
I understand the consequences and repercussions of racism in U.S. immigration policy, and it’s painful. This is why I will continue to stand in solidarity with my community to work towards the legalization of undocumented people. ]
________
I am applying to the University of Washington to obtain a a Bachelor’s Degree in History. However, funding college has been nearly impossible as a low-income/first-gen student. Any financial support or mentorship will help me reach my goal of becoming an immigration lawyer, community organizer, and policymaker.
