Bio

Adoption to me is very interesting in many ways. I have been given many opportunities I would not have had in my old life. I have a great new family who loves me, and most of all, it has given me inspiration for my career path. I finished high school in the top 10% of my class. As a Senior the University of Kentucky, In the past year, I began my Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) major. With this major, I have taken many courses and labs to prepare me for a career in healthcare including hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and immunohematology. For my clinical rotations, I was matched through my program to the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Lexington and I am very excited for the experience! I also made the Dean’s List for the third time in the spring of 2023 while attending the University of Kentucky. I was awarded the “MLS faculty award” which is given out once per cohort. It was given for my excellent academic performance, willingness to help others, and professionalism. I also became a TA for a pre-MLS course offered at my college. Additionally, I have volunteered to go to local high schools as part of an outreach program to help kids explore different healthcare jobs. I also co-founded a club at my university with a friend this year. This club is called the Asian Women’s Alliance to give women on campus a safe space to hang out and meet each other, all while sharing different cultures and building a sense of community. I am truly passionate about my career choices aspire to begin working as a generalist or a blood bank scientist after I graduate.
