Bio

When I go to college I want to join Army ROTC at CNU, so I can become an Officer in the US Army. I want to do 20-plus years just like my father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. They were officers in the Army and I want to continue down that line they've set before me. I plan to be in the Aviation branch of the Army. My chosen University is Christopher Newport University (CNU). I'm thinking about majoring in Leadership at CNU possibly just minor. I'm going to use the Leadership skills that I learn at CNU to help become a leader that people can look up to in and out of the Army. I want to become a leader that people can trust, and be able to come to me without hesitation about something. Sociology will be my main major at CNU, I'm thinkin about doing a second minor of Military Science. I was in Army Jrotc, and I did reach the highest rank I can Cadet Lieutenant Colonel. I was the highest-ranking cadet in my school's JROTC program. Jrotc has taught me discipline and leadership. I was the valedictorian for my graduating class of 2023 for my high school. I've had mostly A's. I did track/cross country in school for 3 yrs. I'm also a Christian and I believe this is the route God has called me to do for my life. Serve my country and protect my home. CNU has things for Christians on campus, that I'm very excited for. I will use what I've learned from God to live a life of testimonies for others, to teach others/show others that my God is an amazing God and he can help anyone no matter their situation.

    Mental Health Importance Scholarship
Mental health is crucial because it affects every aspect of our lives, influencing our emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and overall well-being, allowing us to cope with stress, build healthy relationships, and lead fulfilling lives. To maintain mental health and wellness, I consider these practices: 1.) Self-care: Engage in activities that bring you joy and relaxation, such as hobbies, exercise, mindfulness, or spending time with loved ones. 2.) Balanced lifestyle: Strive for a balanced routine, including regular sleep, healthy nutrition, and exercise, as these can significantly impact mental health. 3.) Stress management: Practice stress-reduction techniques like meditation, deep breathing, yoga, or engaging in activities that help you unwind. 4.) Seek support: Don't hesitate to talk to friends, family, or a mental health professional if you're struggling; having a support system is essential. 5.) Limit negative influences: Minimize exposure to toxic environments, negative news, and social media that can impact your mental well-being. 6.) Set boundaries: Learn to say no to commitments that overwhelm you, and prioritize your mental health by setting healthy boundaries in relationships. 7.) Cognitive behavioral techniques: Challenge negative thought patterns and replace them with positive and realistic ones. 8.) Be kind to yourself: Avoid self-criticism and practice self-compassion, acknowledging that everyone faces challenges and setbacks. 9.) Stay socially connected: Engage in meaningful social interactions and maintain healthy relationships. 10.) Avoid harmful substances: Limit alcohol, drugs, or other substances known to negatively affect mental health. Mental health is an ongoing journey, and seeking professional help is never a sign of weakness but rather a proactive step toward improving anyone's well-being. Seeking professional help has always helped me. Some reasons to seek professional help are: 1.) It's a proactive step: Seeking help shows that you recognize the importance of your mental health and are taking proactive measures to address any challenges or concerns you may be facing. 2.) It's similar to seeking help for physical health: Just as you would consult a doctor for a physical ailment, seeking help from a mental health professional is a responsible approach to addressing psychological issues. 3.) Expertise and guidance: Mental health professionals are trained, qualified, and experienced in dealing with a wide range of mental health issues. They can provide valuable insights, support, and evidence-based treatments to help you navigate through difficult times. 4.) Reduces stigma: By seeking professional help, you contribute to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health. It helps normalize the idea that mental health is just as important as physical health and that seeking support is a natural and encouraged part of taking care of oneself. 5.) Improved outcomes: Studies consistently show that individuals who seek professional help for mental health concerns experience better outcomes and have a higher likelihood of successfully managing and overcoming their challenges. 6.) Safe and confidential space: Mental health professionals provide a safe and confidential space for you to express your thoughts and feelings without judgment, allowing you to explore and address issues you might not feel comfortable discussing with friends or family.

The United States of America is one of the most prosperous nations in the world. The country offers an environment of equality, freedom, and endless opportunities for all its citizens. It is a land that boasts of innovation, democracy, and a rich cultural heritage. It is much easier in the USA to move from one social class to another than it is in most of the rest of the world. These reasons are, I want to serve the United States of America. The best way for me to do this is in the military. Firstly, serving the USA is a means of giving back to the country that has been a beacon of hope, prosperity, and democracy. The United States has been instrumental in shaping the world order and advancing human rights and dignity globally. Serving the United States, in the military, is an honor and a privilege to be able to contribute to maintaining the values and ideals of the country. Secondly, serving the United States is an opportunity to safeguard and protect the country's sovereignty and security. As a citizen, it is my duty to protect the nation against any potential internal and external threats to its security. The military is an opportunity to defend my country and protect the freedoms and rights that all Americans enjoy. The United States Military works hard to maintain peace and stability in the world by fighting against terrorists and other threats to national security. I want to serve the United States of America by serving in the military because of the defense it provides for my country (USA), and many other reasons. Serving in the military is an opportunity to be part of something bigger than oneself. It is an opportunity to serve one's country and make a difference in people's lives. The military not only provides a sense of purpose but also a sense of belonging to a community that shares common goals and values. Serving in the military has the honor and respect that comes with it. Members of the military are admired and highly respected in society. Serving in the military demonstrates a commitment to the country and a willingness to make personal sacrifices for the greater good. It also upholds the legacy of those who have served before, who have fought and died to protect and defend the United States of America. I want to be a part of that honorable legacy. When I die I want to die knowing my service to the USA was meaningful the best way I see that that can be done is through the US Military. In conclusion, serving the United States of America is an honor, duty, and privilege. The country has provided me with an environment of prosperity, equality, and freedom, and the least I could do is give back by serving her.
