Hello, my name is Kerionna I graduated from East Central High School in 2015 after I graduated high school I went to Tulsa Community College. In 2019 i graduated from Community Care College as a Medical Assistant. I'm pursuing and also changing careers at the moment. I'm very determined and excited to work for every bit of my career because although everything will be rewarding I know it will be a long but interesting ride.
I'm the oldest of 7 brothers and very family-orientated so going back to school would make them proud on top of myself being proud for taking this big step that will change my life for a lifetime. My lifetime goal is to live conformably, and peacefully and be able to take care of my family plus more. I feel as if you have those key factors in life anything that comes will always be in your favor. I'm currently going to school to get my bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice then after I graduate in 2027 I'm wanting to transfer to a college so I can get my Master's of Science and Criminal Justice.
I'm also wanting to give back to my community and the youth by buying different houses and working on them so they can be safe houses for ages ranging from 10-25. Here we will help with homework, educate, feed, and just a stress-free and safe environment for children and young adults who can't escape the world and everyday life struggles. Winning a scholarship would be great for me not just because it'll help me financially but it'll always show me that someone actually sees and hear me in this big world.

imagine being a kid and life somewhat feels normal until one day your parent gets a call saying that your sibling is in the hospital. I always look at my siblings and parents' as superheroes so I was sure she was okay. I got a call the next day stating that my 10-year-old sister passed. move fast forward 3 years later and my father passes. My mother was a good mother but she just didn't know how to cope or help her children with this situation and the older I got the more I understood that its no words or jesters that you can do to replace the pain of losing a sibling or parent These death were and are my hardships in life.
I would be lying if I said that I have overcome these hardships in life because every day is a struggle with these two hardships. I have learned to always think positive and never negative, when I feel sad I find ways to cope like swimming, reading, or taking a walk in nature. these situations have changed me for the better I'm wiser, understandable and most of all I don't hold grudges. i make sure that i let everyone know that I love them no matter what the situation is because life is hard and too short you just never know what life will throw at you.
college is important to me because I can get myself out of the struggles I face in life which start financially. My pay would increase of course but I will be able to pay off my loans with school and also my debt. instead of working a job for 6 to a 1-year I'm wanting to have a job that I can hold the longevity and also love what I do and where I work because these places I have worked or schools I have gone to I wasn't interested in. Doing something you love and have a passion for will make your work ethic greater than it is.
I plan to use my degree to help the youth and also adults that are in trouble with the law or even having trouble at home or don't understand why they act the way they do because I believe that where it starts is the home which should be a safe foundation. outside of the degree, I'm wanting to build houses for the community for children and young adults who either don't have a safe place to go, are hungry, need education, or working on their education, etc. I understand that parents arent always there or cant be due to trying to provide and I just want to be a part of the saying "it takes a village to raise a village"

My father's name is Kerry and that's how my name came along. I have different names for different times in my life they were like nicknames. if someone comes up to me and call me a certain nickname I know what time that person has met me in life and it just brings make different memories of different names because believe it or not some people don't know about some nicknames, for instance, my mother only knows to be by one name other than my brother know me by two names. as if I someone calls me my childhood nickname I know their close to me because not everyone knows that name it's like a comforting name as in my name is similar to my father which is Kerionna

I have been going to the same church since I was in high school I graduated in 2015. The more I went to that church I got interested in the activities going on and also ways that I could volunteer because I love going to the church, and the atmosphere, and I could do volunteer hours for college and it was nowhere better but to help the people who help me and love me. Every Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday after church I would help cook, prep, and give out food to the church members and also to the homeless who either came into the church because they see the sign saying free food or because they would be coming in just to hear the word. we also would go to the shelter downtown and give out meal to the ones who couldn't afford or couldn't get in the shelter at the moment.
This experience humbled me and made me realize that life always could be different. humans in life complain about the smallest things and we are never satisfied but that's just our nature. I had to take a few moments and just process how good I have it in life even though I may not have the big houses or the fancy cars I was still blessed because I'm able to wake up every day, find myself something to eat, being able to go to work and many more things that help me live a comfortable life that I complain about. I just don't take things for granted everything could be taken away in a blink of an eye.
I plan to leverage my program by starting out with at least two houses! Yes, houses and not buildings that I can buy with cash it doesn't matter if I have to fix ware and tares because to me it's all about the experience and the memories. I'm wanting to make those who house children and young adults ranging from the ages 10 to 25. The house will be for those age ranges who either don't have anywhere to go or don't have the attention that is needed at home because either their mother and father or just their mother or just their father is always at work and more consistent with their job than they can be at home. Somewhere they could stay, learn and play it would be a safe place.
