I started school at the age of three years old. And begin to excel in every class I was in. At the age of five years old, I started modeling and acting. I booked three national commercials, Sleepy's Welcome Home, Road Rippers, and Hasbro Operation. All which can be found by goggling my name. I also played Pharrell Williams for ToddleWood, where I was interviewed on access Hollywood. I was Senator Cory Booker, for the Because of them global campaign. Where my print jobs could be found on bus stops, and billboards.
I am a young minister at my church, and I was also the Student body President of my entire High school.
Some of the most common social issues we face today are income equality, poverty, racism, and discrimination. All which resonate with me deeply. It is extremely important that everyone is afforded the same opportunities to lead a successful life.
I was born with sickle cell, but I never allow the disease to stand in the way of my goals. If anything. I use it as motivation with such determination to crush everyone of them.

Kyla Jo Burridge Memorial Scholarship for Brain Cancer Awareness and Support
My grandmother died from brain cancer. It was a very difficult time for my family and I. I was a baby when she died, but her death was extremely devastating to the entire family. Especially my Mother.
She was only 24 at the time, and watching her go through radiation and chemotherapy was difficult. She was such a Lively and vibrant person. Seeing the effect the medication took on her was hurtful.
My grandmother loss all of her hair, and became very weak. She was on Hospice care. That could only keep her comfortable until her finally moments.
Our family does the cancer walk every year in honor of my grandmother, and help raise money desperate for a cure.
My mother is my hero, even after the death of her Mother she has been in my corner and has pushed me all the way.
I am studying political science. My goal is to be a lawyer one day. I want to start an organization to give back in support of a cure.
I was born with sickle cell, so I know first hand what it means to live with a life threatening disease.
I have never been sick, or hospitalized from my disease. And I truly believe that the prayers of my grandmother have kept me all these years.
My great grandmother also passed away from cancer. So it’s definitely a know disease in my community.
Often times people are not educated on early diagnosis, and the big impact it can make concerning treatment.
At my church we have a mobile that we have connected with, Which allows the community to come and get free screening. Some people are afraid to go to the doctors. Bringing the mobile to them makes it a little more convenient.
I pray that we find a cure for this disease. We are losing some of our best people to it. I sometimes sit and imagine the relationship I could have had with my grandmother, if she had more time on this earth.
Cancer doesn’t have to be a death sentence, if we continue to educate people on getting ahead of this horrible disease before it’s too late.
At my church every Christmas we go to the children’s hospital and donate toys to children with cancer. It hurts my heart to see them, but they are fighting. And they are happy. It is a reminder to me on how blessed I am.
Life isn’t perfect, but it can always be worst. I am so grateful for my life, and everyone I have in it.

I came into this world fighting. Being born with sickle cell, My endurance and strength came at an early age. When I was a baby, the Doctors told my Mother that they didn't know how this disease would affect my life time. I was on meds when I was only two weeks old. The fact that I could not speak as of yet, I would not be able to communicate when or if I was to have a pain crises. I started walking at 7 months old. My Mother truly believed that I was gifted from birth.
I started school at the age of three years old. And begin to excel in every class I was in. At the age of five years old, I started modeling and acting. Where my print jobs could be found on bus stops, and billboards.
My first year of High School started at the peek of the pandemic. Unfortunately at the same time my parents were also getting divorced. I felt extremely overwhelmed with virtual school. We had to leave our home because of a domestic situation concerning my Dad. My grades begin to suffer. I was always the over achiever, but quickly found myself struggling. I had to take two summer classes that summer. And with the help and encouragement of my Mother, I was able to get myself back on track.
I am a young minister in my church, and I am also the Student body President of my entire High school. Some of the most common social issues we face today are income equality, poverty, racism, and discrimination. All which resonate with me deeply. It is extremely important to me that everyone is afforded the same opportunities to lead a successful life.
I became a mentor at my church, where I travel around to preach, teach, and speak to the youth and encourage them to reach beyond the stars. It is important for the younger generation to have positive influences. They are more likely to emulate the habits and perspectives of those they look up to.
I have benefited greatly from having my Grandfather and uncle in my life. They are both Pastors of their own churches , and I have learned tremendously from each of them. The street where my church resides on is name after my great Grandfather. I have been blessed to be the decent of such amazing men, who have demonstrated being pillars of their community.
Weather it be serving food every week to the community, giving out turkeys during Thanksgiving, or going with my uncle to pick up donated brand new toys from the city of New York to hand out to the children of our community. I've learned the importance of how just helping a little can ease some stress and leave an impact that can change the entire dynamic of someone life.
Running my school campaign to become student body President was not only successful, but also engaging. With the help of my peers, I was able to create a video which involved members of the school.
No matter how great we believe we are as individuals, it takes a village to help someone develop and flourish.
As an African American man, it is important to have equal opportunities to succeed.

The love of writing allows me a freedom of imagining the world I wish I lived it. The pen allows you to create a story in which you are the author of the beginning, the middle & the end.
In life we have no control over the circumstances that we face, but when you lose yourself in the art of writing it becomes so magical and beneficial.
Writing allows you the ability to think and believe in other alternatives. If you can think it, or imagine it. It can become your reality.
I have been through many things in life, but writing, reading, and studying allowed me the freedom to dream bigger.
I encourage everyone I know to keep a journal, use a smart board, or anything that will enlighten the fire within.
LeBron James Fan Scholarship
My favorite athlete to cheer for on team USA is LeBron James, because he has accomplished the impossible. He was born and raised as an underprivileged African American man, who grew up without a father. He beat all odds making it to the top, and creating a legacy for his self and his family. He continues to give back to his community, and inspire millions. He is the American dream.
America is the best country, with limitless possibilities. The one place you can come from nothing, and become everything. One day you are practicing in a school yard in the hood, and the next you are carrying the torch in Paris.
LeBron James is an example for many. He is a player who has played for over twenty years. He played in the Olympics with players who were not even born when he made it to the NBA.
LeBron James just made history, with his son as one of the first father son duo to play in the NBA.
I have been a fan of Lebron from my toddler age. I would wear his jerseys and go crazy every time he was on the big screen.
Representation truly matters, and seeing Lebron James accomplished everything he has done, has further increased my belief in the quote you can be anything you want to be.

I am also a fan of Simone Biles. She had the biggest come back this year. I was inspired by Simone because at the top of her game, she decided to take a break to concentrate on her mental heath.
The importance of being able to control your health both mentally and physically is critical. Simone took the time she needed to ensure she was fit in all capacities, and she came back stronger than ever.
I am so happy for team USA, and rooted for them all the way.
