FinalistBio
My name is Kendra Coe, and I am a high school senior. As I think beyond high school and what I want my future to look like, I have decided on a career in paper engineering with a minor in mechanical engineering.
Paper engineering is a newer focus in engineering, which is why I find it so intriguing. Not only do I get to the world by finding better and more efficient ways to recycle. But I get to create my path and make something new.
Throughout my schooling, I have always been the nerdy kid who loves math. Once I reached high school I realized I love physics too. All of this, combined with robotics club and falling in love with different labs in physics, has pushed me to this career in STEM.
Other than classes, I keep myself busy with sports. In the fall, I ride on our school's Equestrian Team. I have a horse named Turbo, who has been my best friend through all my struggles. I also play golf on the Varsity golf team. In the spring, I run track, which has given me more friends and connections than I could ever imagine.
Throughout my life, my parents have always shown me the importance of giving back and volunteering. I spend around two hours a week volunteering at some organization, usually through my church. Volunteering is such an essential part of my life and has shown me how I can make a difference.
Moving on to the next chapter of my life will have major changes, especially financially. I am eager for the new friends I will meet as I continue to further my education. I am also excited about what amazing opportunities I will have to make the world better.
