FinalistBio
My name is Kendall “Kenny” Clark, and I am a theatrical dance major at American Musical and Dramatical Academy (AMDA). I'm pursuing a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. I'm interested in working on Broadway and the music industry as a dancer and choreographer. Currently, I'm a fifth semester Junior with a 3.55 GPA. On campus, I serve as a member of the Black Student Union. I participate in Yoga/Mediation in my spare time. I'm also a member of The International Association of Blacks in Dance. I enjoy listening to music, attending off-campus dance classes led by renown chorographers, participating in extracurricular theatrical dance productions.
I received a 4-year scholarship from EVQ Dance Studio during high school. In turn, I volunteer during my Summer and Winter breaks by assisting with dance classes and speaking to EVQ Dance Studio’s students.
I am especially passionate about using my God given talents to give back to local communities through dance. Dance is all about ordinary people sharing their passions, ideas, and love. Therefore, I make it my duty to use resources I’ve been blessed with in order to support those in need and to eventually create safe space for young kids of color who love dance but may be misunderstood.
After four years of theatrical dance training, I'll continue working hard to influence people worldwide through movement. I am eager to continue my dance program at AMDA by continuously learning from experts in the dance industry.

Auditioning for the varsity dance team my freshman year was not easy; it was bold. Dance had always been the only way for a timid boy like me to speak my truth, and I could not be silenced. I found my place on the stage, right in front of the bleachers. When I danced with the team for the first time, I spoke louder than the laughs I could hear down the halls. Danced bigger than the jokes used to belittle me. Freshman year, I found that dance is my language, and I will use it to lead by example.
