My goal is to further my career in the public safety field. I love being able to help my community. I currently work as a 911 Dispatcher, and I completely fell in love with the career. I only have my high school diploma and its extremely difficult to further my career without a degree. I eventually one day would love to become a 911 Dispatch Training Officer. I am a firm believer that education is important and imperative. As a 911 Dispatcher I am always looking to further my education there is only a few free trainings for dispatchers. If I was awarded a scholarship, I would be able to focus on going to college to gain my degree and expand my knowledge of the public safety field. Being able to further my education would open so many doors that I never thought possible. I would also love to become a Federal Police Officer. I have such a strong admiration to help the public in any way I possibly can. My husband is Active Duty in the Military and it's hard to be able to afford going to school. Since having a child in 2021 it made me realize that it's never too late to pursue my dreams. I want to make my daughter proud and let her know that I never gave up on my dreams. I am currently enrolled in a criminal justice program for my associates degree, but I would ideally like to get my bachelor's degree.

In my everyday routine I use each and every one of these traits. I am a firm believer that you must be a strong leader and that good communication is essential. I am a 911 Dispatcher and its extremely important to have great communication skills. As a 911 dispatcher I have had to take control of extremely high-stress situations to ensure safety of my responders and my callers. I am resilient my husband is active duty in the military, and I have always had to adapt and overcome any situation I may be faced with, I feel like that has made me stronger in my day-to-day life. I am unselfish, I always try to help those in need. I am always there to lend a helping hand; I genuinely enjoy helping others and putting their needs before my own. I am determined, If I have a goal, I will do whatever it takes to make it happen. I have an extremely strong work ethic. I absolutely love my career field and always stay late and come in early. I am a team player; I am dedicated I always try to find various training opportunities to further expand my knowledge of the emergency services field. I always try to find solutions to whatever problems I may encounter. I love the excitement of the emergency services field and being able to help people when they are most vulnerable. I know that when people call 911 generally, they are not having the best day and I always treat people with the utmost respect and show them kindness. I am pursuing a degree in criminal justice because I want to be able to further my career and one day become a federal police officer. For federal police officer they generally would like you to have a bachelor's degree and I only have my high school diploma. Leadership to me is like a ship, if you don't have a good leader who knows what they are doing and strives to better themselves the whole vessel will sink. I always strive to be the best leader I can possibly be and I listen with an empathetic nonjudgmental ear.
