I am an enthusiastic and intrinsically motivated clinical psychology student. I am profoundly committed to making a significant and sustainable impact on the diverse mental health, disability, and rare disease community. My goal is to develop as a researcher and teacher who focuses on suicide and barriers to accessible and effective mental healthcare.
Currently, I maintain a 4.0 GPA in both undergraduate and graduate school and coordinate a suicide study at the local hospital. I have over 4 years of research volunteer work and presented my research at national conferences. I have experience as a tutor, writing center committee chair, and continue to serve on both an advisory committee and education committee, which focus on stigma and the development of resources.
My drive stems from personal experiences with 12 diagnosed disabilities and chronic illnesses, navigating barriers to education and employment, and coping with the loss of my best friend to suicide before starting college. These experiences have fueled my passion and determination to succeed in my goals. I firmly believe that my journey is aligned with my purpose to contribute meaningfully to the community.
For me, college is not just another class, book, or paper. It is a transformative experience, a means to change how I live in the world, access knowledge, create futures, and believe in myself to reach my fullest potential. Every academic pursuit is a step toward realizing this vision and making a lasting impact on the world around me.
